This guy does not understand because to him and Ozzie, it's not a personal thing, they did not go through what the real offended people did.
If you say you admire someone from the KKK, there will be people very offended, but none more then someone that had a family member beaten or killed. If someone says they admired Hitler, many people will be offended, but again none more then people that saw or had a family member killed, beaten, or put in a concentration camp.
What some people should try to do is put themselves in the place of Cubans that had family members killed (Executed), or imprisoned just for not agreeing with the new views of the government.
Put themselves in the place of families that worked all their lives to allow their family to have a better life, and the government comes in and takes everything they had worked for and tells them they no longer own anything, it's now the property of the government.
How about being put in a concentration camp if you decide to leave Cuba, where they treat you like the biggest piece of **** in the world, make you work for the government for most of the day and night, where at the end of the work detail (As I was told) the government allowed them to eat old smelly Russian meat or week/month old food that a family member had brought you.
The same people that can not understand how Cubans are acting like this, would be ten times worse if even half of what these people went through happened to them.
Not interesting at all.
If you're not familiar with the Cuban community then you really cannot understand what Ozzie's comments meant.
If Ozzie says exactly what he said in Seattle or Philadelphia, no one blinks. You can't say something like that in Miami. Will not end well.
It's just like you can talk about bombs inside of a Burger King...but you shouldn't talk about bombs inside of an airport.
It's just not very bright.
Exactly, also Guillen never apologizes to anyone, in fact he would be quicker to tell someone to f off then tell them he was sorry, yet here he is almost on his knees, he knows he messed up royally. Anyone that knows what the Cuban community went through, or their passion for this, knows this is a big No No.
