The Dolphins will redo the entire playing field at Hard Rock Stadium with new sod in advance of their season opener and the University of Miami’s.
The grass did not hold up well for Thursday’s preseason game against Baltimore, with players occasionally losing their footing and much of the field being covered in divots. There have been ongoing issues with the turf lately, particularly with hosting El Clasico and scrimmages by both football teams that use the building.

That's great news that they're addressing it......but.....will it make any difference or will the new field just be more of the same in time. Fieldturf is probably the best option....and as for it being too hot, at least it'll be partially shaded now with the covering......and yes, the old Orange Bowl had that flat sandpaper like astroturf (as anyone who's ever played on something like it knows.....hard as concrete and as hot as asphalt).

As long as Miami uses the field for so many other events outside of the Dolphins the turf will always be an issue. There's only 2 ways to fix it. Replace it with a turf or make the stadium for Dolphins use only.

In Miami? Too hot.
Adds to the heat home field. Field turf would keep the field nice for the summer storms and the field would being blazing hot for opponents in september/October. Of course Miami would get used to it lol
