For most NFL teams, playing tough game after tough game would take a toll. For most NFL teams, having to play deep into the 4th quarter of every game in order to win it would have the effect of leaving your headlights on after you turned your car off.
But the 2008 Miami Dolphins are not most NFL teams! Incredibly, this resilient group of football warriors seems to feed and feed well on hard fought contests, all the while tending to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change.
A prime example of this is the Week 16 game against the Chiefs. Kansas City poured it on throughout the entire game. In order to win, Miami had to pour it on even harder than the Chiefs...incredibly...even harder than in any previous contest before this one.
The 2008 Miami Dolphins are like "The Blob" in that they can adjust their play on either side of the ball to cover how the game is flowing.
"The Blob" dissolved people.
Could it be that the 2008 Miami Dolphins destiny is to dissolve the championship aspirations of teams already wearing crowns of glory?
What a great story! What a great season!
There's one more regular season game left to play.
Can Miami play another near mistake-free scrimmage? For the fortunes in football often turn on a bounce of a ball.
Will Miami play with inspiration? After watching this team all season, I can honestly guarantee that this is going to be one fired-up squad.
