He set a school single-season record of 12 interceptions before finishing his three-year career with 21 total. He scored four times on interceptions and took back three punts for touchdowns throughout his tenure. And he picked off a key pass during FSU's 51-13 win over Michigan in 1991.
Drafted fifth overall in the 1992 NFL Draft, Buckley enjoyed a 15-year career that took him to Green Bay, New York, New England, Denver and Miami. For one 13-year stretch, he had at least one interception a season.
"Buck's one of the all-time great – and I can't just say Florida State, but – college football players, in general," FSU coach Jimbo Fisher said. "He was actually a true weapon as a defensive back."
