Herb Brooks died in car accident today

Herb Brooks, coach of the 1980 Miracle On Ice team, died in a car accident in Minnesota today....I wasn't born when this game happened, but the enormous sense of American Pride I get when I watch it is overwhelming
He will be dearly missed

Indeed a tragedy. One of hockey's icons.

I remember that year in the Olympics... it was during the Cold War, and to beat the Soviets in an event that they usually dominated was unbelievable! I was a Sophmore in HS, and I watched almost all of the games the US was in that year... but the final game vs USSR had me jumping up and down screaming!

I think the NHL should create something to honor the man.
