it's 4pm so things become official now

Garrapolo was released. I would release or trade Mike White save $3.5M in cap space and sign Garrapolo to the vets minimum $1.2M saving us $2.3M in cap space. He is guaranteed $17M anyway so he might be willing to sign for the vets minimum.
Garrapolo is more likely to want to sign somewhere that the starting QB spot could be lost by the QB during the year.

Well, he can’t injure himself further on the bench. 🤫

Will be interesting to see when the Tua deal is done how it will be structured. His fifth year right now is for $23 million. He'll obviously be have a deal on a per year basis way above that but would think it will be structured to be back loaded.

Possible.

On the other hand, any place he is likely to get a starting gig is also not likely to be a competitive team.

He's probably at the point in his career that if he wants it to last much longer he's going to have to show something on the field again, IMO. Last time he went into free agency he definitely chose somewhere he was going to start as opposed to somewhere that he was likely to sit the bench and win.

You guys do understand that teams have to be under by 4pm today right? No teams are allowed to SIGN players until that point. The tampering period opened on Monday to contact and agree on signings. Any players reflected on OTC or any other unofficial cap site reflecting players before that would not be accurate.

From this point on signings and other cap compliance measures will need to be made over and over to reflect contracts being signed.

if that's the case then we don’t have enough room for all the new players unless we either cut players or restructure another one
Hard to say without knowing contract specifics.

Obviously, aside from incentives, the one year deals are pretty straightforward. Anything longer term, though, there are avenues to minimize the first year cap hits
