Good article. Short but sweet! Yeah, no matter how you get a great coach, that's the best possible addition. We tampered to get Shula, and we compensated them. The Patriots also tampered to get Belichick (just ask the Jets), but hey, no price would have been too steep.
But listing those incredible trades ... wow. Just curious though, I thought the Dolphins traded the #1 overall pick in the NFL draft for Paul Warfield. And with that pick the Cleveland Browns selected some obscure player, while Warfield went on to become a Hall of Fame player and a great deep threat for the undefeated '72 team. Anyway, the personnel person pulling the strings back then was by far our best in history. He also got players like Manny Fernandez, **** Anderson and a ton more with low draft picks and great trades. That talent overhaul was stunning when Shula came in.
