Has anyone else noticed that the Bills defensive line has been missing in action? They are getting killed on third and long and fourth and long because they cannot generate any pass rush with their 4 down linemen.

Aaron Schobel - 5 tackles, 4 assists, 0 sacks
Ryan Denney - 1 tackle, 1 assist, 0 sacks
Chris Kelsay - 3 tackles, 3 assists, 0 sacks
Pat Williams - 6 tackles, 2 assists, 1 sack
Sam Adams - 2 tackles, 3 assists, 0 sacks
Ron Edwards - 1 tackle, 1 assist, 1 sack
Tim Anderson - 0 tackles, 0 assists, 0 sacks
Justin Baanan - 0 tackles, 0 assists, 0 sacks

Total - 18 tackles, 14 assists, 2 sacks. ZERO sacks from their DEs.

By comparison, here is the production for the Fins DL:

Jason Taylor - 10, 7, 2
David Bowens - 6, 5, 1
Jay Williams - 4, 3, 1
Chidi Ahanotu - 2, 1, 1
Jeff Zgonina - 4, 10, 2
Larry Chester - 6, 0, 0
Dario Romero - 2, 3, 1
Bryan Robinson - 6, 1, 0

Total - 40 tackles, 30 assists, 8 sacks (5 from DEs).

Miami's DL is producing these numbers despite facing fewer passing plays per game. In 4 games Miami's DL has 8 sacks on 98 pass plays. In 3 games Buffalo's DL has 2 sacks on 93 pass plays.

One final note. Total team sacks - Miami - 11, Buffalo - 4.

I think teams are going to start attacking the Bills pass defense.

Schobel got his extension and disappeared, I'd be pretty pissed if I was a Bills fan and he didnt step it up in the coming games.

They have already. Coy Wire needs a fire extiguisher because he keeps getting burned.

Other than that, whats you point?

That is my point.

The Bills defense still has the fundamental flaw of poor play from their DEs. That kind of production from three second round picks is not good. Coy Wire is not the only problem.

I was merely stating my observation and asking what others thought.....

this is a discussion forum, right?

Yes it is.

I just honestly didnt know what point you were trying to make. Rumblings (as you may well know) are that Schobel has disappeared since he signed his extension.
