Going on a massive winning streak that eventually set the tone for the remainder of the Miami Dolphins season in 2016, the team eventually needed that result in order to secure their first playoff berth since the 2008 season. Thanks to an appalling 1-4 start, Miami was put into this spot after it struggled to really get up to speed early in the campaign.
For the 2017 season, this cannot happen. Unlike in 2016 where the Miami Dolphins had a moderately easy midseason stretch, the Dolphins of 2017 will not receive the same blessing. Seeing most of their “easiest” games come early in the campaign, Miami cannot afford another appalling start if the team wants to have a shot at back-to-back playoff appearances.

Miami can get to 3-1 or even 4-0 tbh. The Bucs game will be difficult for the defense so we'll see what happens. At the Chargers and Jets followed by the Saints in London. Miami needs to come out of there 2-2 at worst b/c they have the Titans at home without a bye and then are at Atlanta.

Ahh yes, and water is wet!

I'm sure every team in the NFL has the same mindset of not being piss poor to open up the season.

It's not about your overall record anyway, it's about who gets hot at the right time. You don't have to have all the answers all the time, but you need to have the answers at the right time.

They have to start strong. That has been the Achilles heal of this team for over a decade. The seem to always start 2-2 or worse and it's a hole you can't get out of when you have to play the AFC East.
