Miami has a Josh Allen Problem

I only remember one INT in the redzone. The other was like a hail mary from the 45 yard line on 4th down.

Irregardless, my point is simply that the game didn’t come down to a punt return. It took A LOT of luck for the game to even be that close when the punt return happened. Buffalo was walking up and down the field.
Buffalo definitely won the stat game. I guess my point is Miami's redzone defense kept them in it.

I can tell you Buffalo now has a Josh Allen problem too.

That is a HUGE number for 2024 with not a lot of room for cap maneuvers at 51.3m over the cap. I know Miami is also 52m over but at least they have options to move certain players, Buffalo is not so lucky right now.

If we are going to talk completely objectively, rather than from a homer point of view, the Fins got a lot of luck bouncing their way that game.

For example, Kohou mugged the TE at the goal line. Flag wasn’t thrown. But if he hadn’t mugged him, that’s another Bills TD (would have given Allen 3 TD’s for the game).

The right before half, Needham got absolutely cooked by the RB in the endzone, but he dropped a dime throw by Allen (which would have given Allen 4 TD’s on the game).

So every time I read this take that the Fins only lost because of a punt return, I have to roll my eyes. The Bills were the far better that game.

Every week, every game, every team can point out 3-4 'but if' plays that killed drives or cost TDs.

Only thing fans can say with certainty is Miami has played Buffalo close a few times

He's the Larry Csonka of running quarterbacks, dishing out the hits more than taking them. But, for his own sake, I do think Allen needs to be smarter.

I've seen him challenging linebackers when Buffalo has the game in hand. Maybe that's partly on the coaching staff?
Josh is hard headed and thinks he's bullet proof. I've never seen him really badly hurt so his game has a way of protecting him. He's always being chased but nobody gets him on the ground and he finds someone wide open downfield. I hope Weaver can dial up some effective blitzes to negate Allen. I'm tired of watching him kick our asses!

I think adding that physicality at linebacker would be a big step in the right direction. That's one position that never seems to be emphasized by Miami.

Look at the quality Baltimore has there. Roquan Smith kind of fell into their laps in that Chicago trade. Patrick Queen etc.

Maybe Weaver will pound the table for better linebackers. Tackling in the back seven hasn't been great either. I think part of that is what coaches emphasize so I'm hopeful that's a strength with Weaver.

Exactly that

Kc brutalized Allen when he ran and he faded away in the second half
Same with Lamar vs Kansas City. Kansas City LBs didn’t turn their backs on them and lamar and allen were scared to death to run when linebackers are watching them anticipating a run lol

Haha many on here saying Kansas city was just a shell of itself
