ANALYSIS
Positives: Has good quickness and instincts … Undersized for linebacker, but has the speed and transition agility to make the move to safety at the next level … Plays with reckless abandon … Has the ability to change direction and stay on his feet working through traffic … Reads and recognizes the plays quickly … Very fluid runner with the range to cover ground … Despite his slight frame, he has that short-area burst around the edge that consistently allows him to defeat the linemen into the backfield … Shows no hesitation in his moves, using his hands well to shed.

Negatives: Left shoulde problem in 2001 needs further examination, as the injury caused him to lose weight and adapt his work load in order to protect the shoulder from further damage … Has a tendency to drop his head and pick a side when tackling, possibly to compensate for his shoulder problem … Gets engulfed by the larger blockers in run support … Needs to refine his pass coverage technique, as he tends to eye the quarterback too much, resulting in receivers gaining separation … More of a cut tackler than a secure wrap-up type … Inability to maintain weight is a concern.

CAREER NOTES
Two-year starter whose big play ability had the coaches comparing him to former Vol standout, Al Wilson (Denver) … One of three team captains, he battled through shoulder problems to finish his career with 219 tackles (145 solos), six sacks, 17 stops behind the line of scrimmage, 13 pass deflections, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.

Wade Smith had better pan out! We SORELY need help on the OL.

Drafting Eddie Moore reminds me of when the Yets drafted Jeff Lageman a few years ago and Mel Kiper's comment: "the Jets just don't understand what the draft is all about."

The Yets' response: we think Lageman will a good, young, bright, football player.

Answered the critics: "sure Lageman may be good, young, bright football player who would have been available in the 4th, 5th, or 6th rounds.
