That leaves Langford, which BloggingtheBeast.com says could be worth a fourth-round pick in the 2013 draft.
Whether it is a fourth rounder or a fifth rounder, it appears the Dolphins will be adding another early draft pick to its bounty in the coming weeks, and should begin the 2013 draft with 10 selections.
And if losing Langford, who started 16 games and contributed 27 tackles and two sacks last season, was worth a fourth-round compensatory pick (which can't be traded) it is possible the Dolphins could have two selections in the second, third, and fourth round of the 2013 draft.
Compensatory picks are usually announced at the NFL owner's meetings, which take place in Arizona on March 17-20.

was a no brainer to let him walk when we switched to a 43...was not the smartest signing by the rams given they play a 43 though...any draft compensation is gravy

If ireland, philbin & co. can come away with an B+ or higher draft next month, we are going to have something special brewing here in Miami for many years to come.

we could also very likely not receive a 4th for this pick also.

Lost Chad Henne 2 yrs 6.75 Kendell Langford 4 years 24 million

Gained Richard Marshall 3 yrs 16 million so not sure if that will translate into a 4th rounder
We signed alot of deals similar to Henne's like Hicks 2 mill and Garrards

I really doubt this is happening. The bulk of consideration for comp picks is simply contracts. There is some consideration for playing time and even some consideration for a player's team going far in the playoffs, but it is mostly based on contracts.

Langford's was for a little more than Marshall's and Marshall did go on IR so there should be something, but to expect a high comp pick for this stuff IMO would be really unrealistic. Expect a 7th or a 6th at the highest.
