Should we go after Wallace

We can probably get a good wide receiver like Muhamed Sanu of Rutgers with the 42nd pick, if that is what we want. Sanu didn't have the best Combine in terms of 40 yard dash, but he is one of those guys who plays better than individual stats. There should also be other WR's in the 2nd and 3rd round who are really good. Hopefully we won't need to draft a WR, and can get a guy like Reggie Wayne through free agency.

If someone signs Wallace to a big deal there's nothing Pittsburgh can do. There hands are tied because of their cap situation. They've already restructured Roethlisberger, Woodley, Timmons, Colon, & Taylor's contracts plus cut Ward, Kemoeatu, Smith, McFadden, Battle & today either Farrior or Foote. There's not much else they can do. If a team signs Wallace to a deal that includes a huge base salary this year, Pitt is screwed.

You have to use your pick to sign a restricted free agent. So if we trade down in the first it takes us out of the RFA market.
