Because I wasn't around in 72, it's difficult for me to truely compare the RB combos...However, the thought crossed my mind that the 2005 Phins offense could look like a hybrid of the 70s and 80s offense.

With Linehan's downfield attack and our 3 backs pounding it out, one could say that the '05 Dolphins are what you get when you mix 25% Marino with 75% Perfect Team.

Feel free to let me have it if this is a ridiculous thought.

I think the game has changed to require more passing. In '72 we had games where we threw about 10 passes all game. I don't think you can win doing that anymore. Even Marty ball has been adapted. IMO your 25/75 mix will not feature enough passing. I think it will be closer to 50/50. The problem is I don't believe we have a QB on the roster that is more than 25% of Marino.

I agree 100% that we don't have a QB any where near Marino's standards. I guess I was thinking that we would have a trio of solid RB's like we had in '72 and a downfield threat similar to what we had with Marino.

I can't wait to see how our offense is defined this season!!!
