The Draft is Over and it is Now Time to Turn to Phase 3 of Free Agency

Safety x 10000

Ravens used 3 safeties on over 80% of their defensive players. Right now we have Holland and a one year rental in poyer who I think will be good but still need a third.

As for oline either im looking at Van Roten as a stop gap or waiting until mid season for Connor Williams.

I think Wr 3 is set with the draft, that Malik kid looks crazy plus have easy E returning along with Berrios. Someone like obj or bringing back juice will be around during the season if needed but think it’s a pass for now.

Maybe dline but it’s going to be guys youve probably never heard of. It’s clear they’ll be a rotational dline team.
I think Eli Campbell might be a potential surprise here in the new scheme.

It suits his playing style well and the last two years at camp he has flashed constantly in the back end.

It was a low key crucial resign this offseason.

Raiders constantly going against the grain, it's in their DNA. Hoping for Van Roten as a Phin, makes a ton of sense.
Perfect stop gap and gives us room to move quality guys at depth. We know we'll need the bodies - we need them everysingle season.

Douglie Do Wrong mentioned that Van Wroten gave up 5 sacks and 21 pressures last year which is probably why he remains unsigned. He is probably no better than who we already have.

Dude please spell his name correctly, it's driving me crazy.

Risner allowed 30 total pressures in 485 LG snaps or 1 every 16.1 snaps
Eich allowed 24 pressures in 526 snaps or 1 every 21.9 snaps. At LG/RG, he allowed 3 in 112 or 1 every 37.3.
Rob Jones allowed 14 in 304, or 1 every 21.7
In his one season at RG, 2021, Driscoll allowed 18 in 293, or 1 every 16.2
Wynn allowed 4 in 224, or 1 every 56. If he could just stay healthy...
Cotton allowed 20 in 362, or 1 every 18.1
Van Roten allowed 21 in 626 RG snaps, or 1 every 29.8
Phil Haynes allowed 8 pressures in 248 snaps at RG, or 1 every 31. He allowed 4 pressures in 51 snaps at LG, or 1 every 12.75

Hunt allowed 5 in 376 or 1 every 75.2. Looks like none of them will come close to emulating his pass protection.

Pressures = sacks + hits + hurries.

Seems like RG is Eich's best position. I think he will win the starting RG spot and surprise a lot of people.

I had a typo on Eich. It should have said LG/RG. He never played LT at all in 2023. It was kind of late when I was typing. Eich is fine at either OG spot comparatively. I still see value in signing Van Roten for RG. He isn't Hunt in pass pro, but is way better than any other possibles we have there currently on the roster. Wynn is fine at LG, as long as he stays healthy, which is a significant concern. Starting Wynn and Van Roten, with Eich being the interior swingman would be about as good for pass pro at OG as we could hope for to start the season. I'll go back and add Phil Haynes to the list since he's been another RG we've shown interest in and is still available.
