Thanks for the compliment but maybe you can elaborate on how we could have done a better job on the SP? Im lost on that bro :confused:I tend to agree, but I still think we could have done a better job with the pitching.
Maybe its just the old Met fan coming out in me again.
Good read.
Andruw will but chipper will not. Andruw has a chance to put his price tag in the 120m -130m range with a big year as his FA approaches. The Braves are in decline, and they havent improved over the offseason very much if any at all.
They dont have the talent now to compete with The Mets established players. They dont have enough talent to compete with Florida's young players, and they dont have enough talent to hit with Philli even though neither team has great pitching.
You also have to remember last year after Florida put together our starting staff in full we were as good as any other team in the NL, and had a better record from that point on that most of them also. Philli went on a tear, and we will see if that was luck or if they really are that good.
Unless Florida and Philli get banged up a lot I dont see Atlanta with any chance to finish better than 4th this year. Unless the Jones's have amazing years.
Depends who you ask. Milledge is unique to say the least. Personally I try and temper my expectations with prospects because theyre young and the slightest thing can set them back or boost their confidence.Serious question
How high are you guys on Milledge.....there were times last years he couldnt even catch a fly ball and looked horrible. What do you guys see him as?
talk of marlins/phils winnin second place? i guess everyone hasnt followed the nl east the past 15 years... braves will some how find a way to compete if they stay healthy. and yeah, the mets do win the divison again. go METS!
The Phils have Howard, Utley, Hamels and a whole bunch of nothing good.I think the Met's starting pitching is going to be their undoing this year. The Phils have starting pitching, and hitting for power and average. The Phils could use a solid setup man, and a little help at Catcher and 3rd Base, but I think this is the Phil's year. The Braves and Marlins will battle it out for 3rd, with the Nats pulling up the rear.
 I was being sarcastic, then quickly coming back to reality. Each smiley thing is for one of his split personalities.
Actually I think the woot was sarcastic
Man looking at this our minors are loaded with solid players, and while depth is an issue i expect that to get better with 5 picks on the top 100 in this years' deep draft.
Anyway, required reading for NL east fans: http://www.rotoworld.com/content/features/column.aspx?sport=MLB&columnid=2&articleid=27653
