Bills | Winfield, Vincent to join - from www.KFFL.com
Thu, 4 Mar 2004 20:13:52 -0800
Updating previous reports, in a strange turn of events, according to, Len Pasquarelli of ESPN.com, the Buffalo Bills are close to signing CB Troy Vincent. So close in fact that Vincent and Nate Clements called up Winfield early this evening and talked about possibly coming back on board with the Buffalo Bills with Vincent likely playing FS or Winfield playing nickle. It states that suprisingly Buffalo has been able to sign Vincent for just $12.8 million over 3 years and a $3 million dollar signing bonus. Antoine Winfield and his agent are apparently waiting in East Rutherford for a call from Tom Modrak, Bills assistant General Manager. It is expected that Winfield will not command the big salary figure that was talking about with the Jets and the Texas via a cell phone call. We do not know the exact figures at this time but its substantially less then what the Jets had offered and Winfield had apparently agreed to and then backed out of earlier.
Pipe Dream.
