Its not a bad deal money wise, but I think we all now realize the magnificent trio is not going to lead the Nets to the promised land. So why prolong the mediocrity? Let Kidd go to a contender and see if Wright and Williams are the future. Now the Nets are stuck for the next couple years with the same team, with the stars a year older and on the wrong side of 30.
How are they prolonging mediocrity? They made it to the playoffs and almost beat the Cavs without thier best post player Nenad Krystic all year. This year they get him back with newly added Sean Williams,a more experienced Josh Boone and hopefully Mikki Moore comes back after a great season. Jefferson is still only 27 with Carter coming off his best season in a while and Jason Kidd is well he's still Jason Kidd and still going strong. Then you have Wright and Marcus Williams coming off the bench in the backcourt, providing good bench players.
