A source close to Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga said Saturday that Huizenga intends to pursue repayment of the more than $5 million in incentive money the team paid to running back Ricky Williams over the past two years.
Before he officially retired earlier this week by filing paperwork with the NFL, Williams talked about filing for bankruptcy and letting the team come after the money in court. He said an NFL team coming after a man with three children might be embarrassing to the team.

Good, he deserves whatever the penalties are.
 
This just shows even further what a louse Ricky is. First he signs a contract then refuses to honor it. Then he changes his excuse for quitting more often than most people change underwear. Now he is saying that he might fraudulently try to keep the money he agreed to give back if he ever quit or held out. This guy's word is absolutely worthless.

An NFL Running back quitting the game and surrendering Millions of dollars to smoke pot might be an embarrasment to his 3 kids!!!!!!!!
 
ricky is such a loser......i thought he didnt care about the money.this guy has major problems.i dont think he even knows what he wants other then smokeing weed.go get him wayne get him 4 all u can.this guy is a joke.

Check out this link. ex-#34 says he will file for bankruptcy and make the team come after him in court to get any money back. My question is how in the hell can you file for bankruptcy when you have millions in the bank, enough money to retire at age 27, and constantly fly all over the world? That doesn't sound like a bankrupt person's lifestyle to me.

Bankruptcy is about debt to income. You can have 50 million dollars, but if you owe 200 million then you in trouble.

Just because you file for it, does not mean you will get it. The thing is if he does file then his contract can also be voided which means Miami would lose his rights and then he can sign with anyone else and Miami gets nothing in return.


Its going to be interesting. Frankly I do not believe Miami has a case on incentive money. That is money has been earned. That part of his contract may not be inforceable.

I think Miami will wait on the money issue, until they see if they can trade him.
 
Wayne pissed at Ricky?.......Gee, do you think. I say we go after RW, and get every damn dime out of that quitter that we can. We didn`t make the playoffs the last two seasons with him, so I could give a damn about him not being here. Good riddance!

Bankruptcy pretty much clears your slate and can void all contracts you have entered into. Not an always.

Not sure if anyone remembers but I think it was the early '90s when Reggie Roby filed for it and it was a huge concern of Miami that his deal would be voided.

I do not remember the outcome, but I do remember the possibility.

Bankruptcy has to be granted. Just because you file, does not mean you will get it.

Donald Trump is a brilliant businessman, something that Ricky is far from. I also don't see Trump dropping all of his casinos and quitting The Apprentice for FREEEEEDDDOOOOOMMM!!! anytime soon.
