Why isn't the AFC Championship game earlier in the day before the NFC Championship game like usual this year?

Yeah the AFCC game should nave been the early game AND it should have been in NE by virture of NE beating the #1 seed in SD last sunday. With that win NE should also win the home field too. The league favors the colts and it shows. :D

:rolleyes2 :spam:

The championship games are rotated every year normally. Last year Denver hosted Pittsburgh early and Seattle hosted Carolina. Sometimes the NFL does take into account weather conditions when deciding what time games might start this late into the season like last weeks Chicago game.

I'm pretty sure it's done by timezones. Chicago and Indy are both Central, I believe, so it didn't matter who went first.

Think about boxing or UFC PPVs. The big matchup is always last. NE vs. Indy was the main event.

:hmmm: What difference does it make?

Ya because those are the playoff rules. Get over it your team lost, stop trying to find excuses.

I think it rotates every year. Since realignment in 2002...

2002 early game: NFC (Bucs-Eagles), late game AFC (Titans-Raiders)
2003 early game: AFC (Colts-Patriots), late game NFC (Panthers-Eagles)
2004 early game: NFC (Falcons-Eagles), late game AFC (Patriots-Steelers)
2005 early game: AFC (Steelers-Broncos), late game NFC (Panthers-Hawks)
2006 early game: NFC (Saints-Bears), late game AFC (Patriots-Colts)

so unless this is a huge coincidence, it goes on rotation.
