ND requires 16 core courses. No exceptions. NCAA (and most schools) requirement is 13 core courses.

ND requires all freshmen (including athletes) to enroll in Freshmen Studies, which includes calculus. Because of this, ND does not accept January admissions.

ND does not accept any partial qualifiers and does not accept JUCOS.

ND rarely accepts football transfers from other schools. I can recall two in twenty years, one was a punter from an Ivy League school. I cannot recall where the other player was from.

ND doesn't redshirt per se. They have "Fifth Year Seniors". Those players have to have graduated and have enrolled in graduate school. They must then apply for a fifth year. Some are accepted, some not.

damn those are some strict rules....no wonder they havent had much success lately. plus that makes their recruiting take a big hit. they either have to loosen their admissions standards to get big-time players to go there or stay with their current standards and not complain about how they are suppose to be up there with the top programs in the country cause IT aint gonna happen. Maybe back in the glory days, but not anymore.

You have to be a real student to play at Notre Dame. At least that's the intent.

Why don't Notre Dame just start doing things the old fashioned way by paying athletes to come to their school!

ND doesn't redshirt per se. They have "Fifth Year Seniors".

Which is essentially the same thing. About 3/4 of them have already technically redshirted(or are eligible for a 5th year).

They damn sure had at least ONE JUCO player from Holy Cross CC that showed up as a junior!

Shouldnèt be hard to figure out who he is, only one of the most famous ND alums ever!
