Sorry, but you're wrong. We're not asking Zach to take a paycut at all. We're trying to give him a contract EXTENSION. This is the last year of his contract, so we're trying to extend his contract so that he can finish his career as a Dolphin. This likely does not involve a pay cut but rather a pay INCREASE, since he'll be receiving a big fat bonus in the neighborhood of $7 million plus whatever his base salary will be this year. As of right now, despite his $6.9 million salary cap figure, Zach will be receiving only about $5 million in base salary this year. Any contract extension means that he gets more money this year, than that $5 million base salary. PLUS, he secures work for himself for years to come.
