Travis Daniels

i disagree. madison is in it for the money not hte love or passion. he has lost taht a long time ago as it shows. players taht want to win ala ZT, JT dont put money ahead of themselves rather the W's to get the SB ring. Sam paired with Law can be a good tandum again as madison seems like he needs a very good CB to compete with to bring his A game and back to self form but it isn't guaranteed adn a guy taht isn't willing to tackle or show love but rather money issues, i dont want him.

You should go into work tomorrow and ask your boss to pay you less. You know, for the good of the company.

What Position do you think He will play in 06

I say FS

i agree but is his tackling good enough.
he lacks the speed required for a cb

Shaun Alexander explained it really simple. He was saying people asking him why, when he has 10 cents, he wants 11. If he deserves that, then why shouldn't he earn it?

The problem is ths Sam does not deserve it.

exactly, madison is no longer an elite corner and should not be paid like one.

People have evidently decided that since he doesn't want to renogiate his contract that he is some sort of a traitor.

:shakeno:

Like to see how much they'd like people coming to them at their work and asking them to take a huge pay cut so they can hire someone else.

Players can't win, fans have totally bought the owner's line of crap. If a player won't renegotiate, he's a traitor, but if HE wants more money and wants to renegotiate, he's a traitor and everyone is screaming that he shouldn't have signed the contract.

Pony..while what you are saying in theory has much merit, the majority of us don't work in the entertainment field...A players worth is based on how much he contributes NOW and in the near future (this upcoming season) or but not what he's done in the past. That is completely opposite from most jobs.

In this next paragraph, I'm not saying that SM is worthless, but his worth is less than it has been in the past....

If we keep SM, while we'd be repaying him for the 6-7 years that he helped keep the team afloat for the most part, we'd be losing games due to his physical liabilities...The organization has to make business decisions in order to put and keep butts in the seats...If the Fins don't win games, the fan base will shrink, they won't be able to pay the players the monies they do...It's a simple business process not some conspiracy of the owners to sabotage players the ilk of SM, Ty Law, etc....

Sam madison doesnt owe the Dolphins anything. He has taken pay cuts already that were wasted. Now he knows he is on the downslope of his carrer, so he wants all he can make. Him not taking a pay cut doesnt make him a bad teammate, classless, arrogant, not in it for the passion, ect.
Get off his back already

Sam was the best corner by far on our team last year. He didnt lose us 1 game that I recall. Your post is saying that Sam will hurt the team by staying. I strongly disagree.

He's likely to play Strong side corner because of his size. TD actually played better than Surtain in his rookie year.

Poole will take Sams spot. Sam's refusal to take a pay-cut will deliver the ultimate pay-cut.

Shirdonya Mitchell will compete for Nickle.

Yeremiah is a much better candidate for starting FS than Travis.

It would be nice to see Huff drop to 16. I think Saban would have a hard time passing him up. Then we would have a young and aggressive secondary. BYE BYE Sam.

Respect Sam.. He's done great for us. Business is business, but he has earned our respect as a player.

If Poole dcomes back 100% and we pick up a corner, then Daniels should move to FS and Schulters to SS.

no love for yeremiah bell...huh

i want sam to take a pay cut as much as the next guy because he wont be here if he doesn't. that said he shouldn't take the paycut, there are plenty of teams that will pay him what hes worth, saban will select youth over history and develop a new guy. Travis will play CB not FS, he is a CB and will continue to perform at CB. im sure he could play any DB positon but Wont.

Shulters is not built to be a SS, so he needs to stay exactly where he is!

..Best case scenario IMO...SIgn SS Archeletta..Shullters stays put at FS

T-Daniels RCB...W.Poole..LCB

..maybe a veteran who can challenge one f them for the starting job and if not be a solid nickel.

Sam is NOT worth a 6.3 million dollar cap hit. If Sam wants to be a Dolphin then he will do what Zach Thomas is willing to do....restructure for the good of the team.

Sam = 6.3 million cap hit
Daniels, Poole, Mitchell = 1.2 million cap hit (total)
