Dolphins’ New Secret Weapon: The Running Game

Have we improved from this year compared to last year at this time. Hum lets compare.
Drake over Drake this year should be a upgrade.
Gore over Williams should be as long as Gore has gas left in the tank.
Ballage over Jay Aja probably not.
IMO question marks abound, as Drake ability to stay healthy is key, Gores age and Ballage college career was not spectacular outside of a couple of games.
If Gore has the gas imo thats going to be the most important thing to happen for us.

"it's an exciting time to be a Dolphins fan" right because the off season is the only time we are actually good. Lol I will buy in when we start winning. Until then... Prove it to me.

Kingfin, you forgot to mention Albert Wilson. It's my opinion that this kid absolutely shines in Gase's offense. Also, RT and Parker have some good chemistry so hopefully our #1 will perform like a #1. Amendola is a cagey veteran who knows every little trick in the book. As a Dolphin fan I was a little put off by having a signature Patriot like Amendola here but I'm already hearing amazing things about his intensity at practice. This good stuff rubs off on others and makes the whole team better.

If you're looking to worry about something I'd pick replacing Suh at DT. We weren't very good with him so that's a concern until we line up and do it against good teams. If we get gashed in the run game we're going nowhere and it will be sickening. There's nothing worse than having the opposition simply run the ball down your throat because they can. I think McMillan and Baker will do a great job for us as well as Safety's in the box. Maybe Phillips is ready be the alpha DT along with Godcheau and others. I hope it's enough. Hankins is still out there, June 1 is almost here. If we snag Hankins with the post June 1 money, we'll be fine.

We will be fine but still a 5-11 team. We truly need a #1 WR. Im doubting Parker, Stills, Grant and Danny A. Im just not comfortable with that.

You think a better O-Line, a better QB, a better secondary and better LB, minus Landry and Suh equals a WORSE team than last year?

The OL is the key. If they are just adequate, nothing spectacular, that should be good enough.
I agree. As bad as the Oline has been, just having a decent O-line would be great

The running game should be better based on OL improvements. Expect Drake to be better if he can run 15 to 20 carries per game.

But you can't conclusively say any of those are better. O-Line will be better if all our off season moves work out. Does that ever happen? And if they all make it through camp.

Ditto the lb corps.

I've great hopes they will be better, just saying, it's not fact yet

If you are not going to at the very least grant that a healthy Ryan Tannehill is better than The Corpse Of Jay Cutler, then I'm fairly certain your opinion is a little bit silly.

Oh, he's made it through training camp healthy already? I guess I didn't get that memo.

And you would doubt that why?

And please. I’m asking very nicely. Before you even try to bring some “injury prone” bullshit...bring friends.

yep, praying for an average OL. what a luxury that would be for RT.

Well, for RT a consistent average O-line would be a huge improvement, anything more then that, and Tannehill will wonder how easy playing QB has become.

I would've thought either Terry Kirby or Bernie Parmalee caught at least 50 passes in a season. Seemed like those two caught a lot of passes out of the backfield.
Good catch. I assumed the article would have fact checked. While Kirby had two very good receiving years( '93 and '95) with 75 and 66 receptions respectively, Parmalee was never able to break the 50 reception mark.

**Update: I forgot the article mentioned, "since Ricky Williams in 2003". Still it is interesting that Parmalee did not have 50rec. in any season.

Terry Kirby:

1995 Miami Dolphins 66rec., 618yds., 3tds.

1994 Miami Dolphins 14rec., 154yds., 0tds.

1993 Miami Dolphins 75rec., 874yds., 3tds.

Bernie Parmalee:

1998 Miami Dolphins 21rec., 221yds., 0tds.

1997 Miami Dolphins 28rec., 301yds., 1tds.

1996 Miami Dolphins 21rec., 189yds., 0tds.

1995 Miami Dolphins 39rec., 345yds., 1tds.

1994 Miami Dolphins 34 rec., 249yds., 1tds.

1993 Miami Dolphins 1rec., 1yds., 0tds.

1992 Miami Dolphins 0rec., 0yds., 0tds.
