Areas Of Improvement

Patrick Mahommes is a monster no doubt, but he’s been graced with nice play calls just like Ryan Tannehill has.

He had 2 touchdowns against the Steelers that were little pop passes and his playmakers made plays. It’s not like he’s out there throwing bombs for every score. That’s only Ryan Fitzpatrick at the moment lol.

So don’t come around talking about play calls helping the qb when the flavor of the month superstar is getting he same calls and his guys are scoring on them too.

Time of possession was terrible
and eventually will wear down our defense

Gase made a statement saying he'd like to
have 60-65 offensive plays a game but the
44 offensive plays was not the direction
we want to go in. If not for a few trick plays
our fate yesterday could have been much worse

We did what was necessary to win which is something we
haven't done in the past, and something to build upon

Can you explain which part was 'passive-aggressive' please?

My opinion is that the intent of the post is to frame a passive aggressive argument. That is my interpretation of the posters statement. It is possible that the poster truly believes that RT has these limitations. That the poster refuses to see how poorly Larsen and Davis are playing. I have not made up my mind about Kilgore, but I suspect his acceptable level of play is keeping the interior of the line from failing completely.

Their run blocking needs to improve.
They need to get in rhythm more quickly offensively.
Their tackling needs to improve, specifically at LB.

That's about it.

You can have twice as much yardage, over twice as many points in twice as much time of possession and guess what?

It doesn't matter. Why?

Because SPEED KILLS!!

And you can't coach SPEED. Nope.

You can only sign it and draft it. Simple as that.

Then throw in a couple bottle caps and sticks and turn those cheetahs loose.

The Raiders seemed to dominate this game and yet flew home 8 point losers, up by 10 with 16 minutes left and suddenly down by 11 with 25 seconds left.

The key word there was 'suddenly".

Wow. 3-0 for a team that many thought might win only 2 games this year.

Here is a quick reality check. The 3 teams we beat are a combined 3-6.

We may only be the best of the worst but it sure feels good right now.

To be fair, you can't count the losses against Miami. Their record EXCLUDING Miami is 3-3.

Tannehill is fine, move on. We need to run block better and don't wait till we're down by 10 or 14 2 Implement our offense. This was some better tackling should really help us win games against good teams.

TJ McDonald's tackling has been atrocious. The only reason the score was even close in this game is because of the shuffling involved in losing Reshad Jones. The DB's were lost to start the game. Minkah was obviously not as comfortable in the safety role because he has been primarily the slot defender. I'm sure he would eventually and probably quickly master the position but he had some lapses. He is our best tackler on the back 7 though.

I have to wonder we wouldn't have been better off putting Mo Smith at SS and leaving Minkah in the slot. Hopefully we get Reshad back this week.
