Wide Receiver Busts May Provide Low-risk Fa Signings

I agree, but I think the bigger problem was lack of desire.

100% - that's what I really mean by lights staying on. He'd be all in for a week or two, and then just sort of phase himself out of the game.

Too competitive of a league for that to work.

If Ted Ginn jr can turn it around then then anything is possible. but no not in mia. The dude plays like he has Epstein-barr syndrome
Ginn was who came to my mind when I asked the question. He, and a long list of other players, were ran out of town for being a bust, someone who "doesn't have it," or just sucks. They then go to other teams and coaches where they find success in some capacity.

For those guys, is it just a change of scenery? Or is it a new scheme and coaching staff?

If it's the latter, then does changing the coaching staff here give him a chance to come close to his potential?

I know there's no magic 8 Ball that will answer this. I would just hate to see yet another talent go on to success elsewhere.

Guy has great size but looking back, I'm not sure why he was such a hyped prospect. He never had over 1,000 yds in college and had injury issues before he came into the league. That all just carried over and continued into the NFL.

Probably a little bit of all of that. It has to be a gut check that the team that so highly of you to use a 1st Rd pick cuts ties with you without even a 5th year option. For some that's the reality check they need I guess.

Others like Ginn probably just go to places that use them for their strengths. If you don't expect a player to do something they can't you won't be disappointed.

His time is up here, but that's ok. WR talent can come in all rounds.

Potential

6’3”, sub 4.5 speed and plenty of tape with him being a beast in the air with solid hands.

His last 5 games after starting the year with an injury were just ridiculous at Louisville.

But I do think something was missed “off the surface” with DVP in regards to his work ethic and mentality. Possible Tannenbaum overlooked those essentials for a prototype #1 build.

we need move on from Parkers. it just not working. from some one cheaper. we are deep at wr.

I am ready to move on from the kid. If I were a team with an established QB, I wouldn't hesitate to sign him to a 1 or 2 year deal.

KC, Indy, LAR, GB would be wise to consider him.

It stings a little more when talent isn't the problem. I could get over it if he just couldn't play, but he can.

If we are going to keep Grant, Stills and Wilson, WR isn't a big need, investment wise. Surely a FA will be signed and a mid round pick added as well.

He is long legged so that makes him a Long strider with long speed. not ideal for agility. similar to Ted Ginn but ted Ginn had super speed so at least he turned into a vertical threat.
