Fitzpatrick, Rosen Begin Qb Competition In Miami

fitz and mat moore is same type qb. I need Rosen to start. he give dolphins hope for future. it time to find a qb for future. we have been stuck in that middle of pact for while. not good but not bad.

Yo! You mean we're like
in the purgatory league?
Or maybe the 3rd bardo?

Me2.

Let's hope he's so good that he doesn't start. True franchise QB's don't grow on trees and no matter how good he might be, I'd rather throw a couple of games to Fitz until the line solidifies in order to not Carr/Tannehill him.

We don't need 16 games to figure out what we have in Rosen, but a couple of rough games behind a really bad line can break him -- literally.

Most important position in football...undoubtedly. Pro Sports, I'd disagree. Point Guard in basketball is more important. I'd say pitcher in baseball also. Perhaps goalie in soccer and hockey...dont follow them enough to weigh in with conviction.

You could, possibly make an arguement for an elite PG. I would still disagree.

No possible way a pitcher. He only starts one in five games.

Goalie, no way. A good defense is required for a great goal tender.

I think in baseball catcher is most important. The World Champ Red Sox in 2019 is a case in point. They started the year with Vasquez and Swihart as catchers and they sucked for the first month of the season. Since they traded Swihart and promoted Sandy Leon from AAA (who combined with Vasquez for last years dominance) the starting pitching has been terrific, and the Sox are winning again. Cant find an article here to back me up but...I will keep looking.

If Fitzpatrick turns out to be another David Woodley I am all for him starting on opening day.
How could a 15 year veteran gunslinger become a scrambling, infrequently (poor) passing QB for us at this stage of his career, and why would anybody want that to happen?

Because he took us to the Super Bowl and the guy who replaced him was Dan Marino. I wouldn’t mind looking back someday and saying Fitz was like David Woodley, in that way.

Got it. You're looking for Woodley team results, not Woodley-type play.

Woodley took the Fins to the Super Bowl as much as Trent Dilfer took the Ravens.

That being said, I see your point.

Fair enough. But a PG is one of only 5 guys on both sides of the floor...most important role in the O and has to play D. Hell, only 8, maybe 9 deep play in most games. QB is huge but he only plays offense...no D or ST. Most important of ~45 guys that will be on the field making an impact to the game.

When I said pitcher, I meant the role...meaning you need to have a quality pitcher every game, not necessarily the same one.

I'll give you goalie... my soccer knowledge is limited to my daughter playing in her teens...

Not really... the Killer “B”’s and the running carried that team.... Woodley held that team back.

No reason to treat Rosen like anything other than a second round pick. Just as no one would bat and eye if a second round pick didn't start day 1, we shouldn't be shocked if Rosen doesn't either.

He is a top ten pick...no different than Sam Darnold and Josh Allen... he’s had a rookie year on a very bad team comparable to those two.

He should be viewed in the same light as them... just because Arizona radically changed their scheme and drafted Kyler Murray, it is no reflection on Josh Rosen.

Lol... I assumed you meant ice hockey.
