06 draft situation

we are in a funny situation right now.its obvious we'll have a top 5 maybe top 3 draft pick.If matt leinart is on the board do you take him.im not sure because leinart is really good and all but jay cutler is a possibility in the next round.
heres my ?'s to all you

1.if leinarts on the board when we pick do you take him?i believe so or do you draft someone else and get cutler in the second?


2.if leinarts gone who do you take?d'brick,hawk,williams?


3.in the first three rounds whats your picks?

my first three rounds
1-williams-wont get leinart because i believe he will go 2nd
2-cutler-have to love this kid.looks great in a fins uni
3-kansas jayhawk linebacker nick reid-really good linebacker,pre season defensive player of the year nominee

2.id take hawk seau is done zach is getting older and our oline is playing good so we dont have to take oline rd1 hawk is going to be a superstar id love to snag him
3.1st rd. leinart
2nd rd. kyle young C fresno st
3rd rd.bobby carpenter OLB ohio st. or bernard pollard S purdue(will prob go alittle higher)

yea i really think we should go defense in the 2st round, preferably jimmy williams who i think we can trade down for, possibly for rivers and maybe a later pick.. i dont know rivers is the right man for us IMO
 
1st - pass on lienahrt, take NGATA!

2nd - Fresno St. QB Paul Pinegar

3rd - Oregon St. WR Mike Haas

And a linebacker in FA or a later round
 
id rather get williams then ngata.Cornerbacks make more plays and are more cricial to a defesne then dt's

jimmy williams will probably be a S in the NFL and DTs are very valubale ngata is a amazing talent with the size and speed he has he can become a monster for us
 
If we cant the QB we want in the first round...we should go for:

1. Either LB Hawk or OLB Greenway
or go with Jimmy Williams if we intend him to play CB and not Safety.

I think QB, OLB, CB are our most pressing needs followed by DT, OL, S
 
The thing about Williams is that he could be one of those guys that's a good corner or safety but could end up not being great at neither.Ngata is posible and on a 3-4 defence is hugh to have a big guy like him at nose tackle.In the end, I think the way to go is Hawk or Greenway cos you need a playmaker at OLB on a 3-4.I don't think we'll pic top 3 so Hawk and if he's gone Ngata or Greenway.Carpenter will NOT be there in 3.He'll probably be gone in the 1st round and 2nd at the latest but Schlegel could be there in the early part of the 3rd round.

By that statement you havent seen this guy play. This is a 345lb DT that runs a 4.85 40! He has the ability to absolutely dominate the LOS and will eat up blockers. Imagine how good our DL would be if you play a 4-3 with Traylor and Ngata in the middle next year. Almost 700 lbs of man in the middle!!!

Ngata will also get good pressure up the middle, with JT and Carter forcing a QB to step up in the pocket he could really rack up some sacks!

1. Absolutely. We can also trade up for him too.
2. I suppose D'Brick is a good option. Depends on where we land.

I agree with you but I would rather take Leinart and add some o lineman to that list.
 
a very GOOD def. line is just as importnat if not more imp. then secondary b/c when they can run on u then they can pass on u as u put antoehr defender to stop the run. it all starst with the lines my friends. OFF LINE and DEF LINE are always important on great teams. w/out it, u will NEVER be great.
