So the new era of the tuna has made its mark on the Miami circuit last year and i'm curious to here your feedback on one of the best years in a long time.
So it all begins with parcells signing as the head of football operations. This signing alone has to be the biggest in dolphins history. So you probably thinking oh no no no, DAN MARINO...well ya there could be some votes for him, but your forgetting that tuna has a long time history of making it to the big show and succeeding, not bashing marino just saying parcells is bigger than any hanyesworth signing or t.o. signing. The 08 season to me had that element of surprise, the wildcat, the emergence of a quaterback with a chip on his shoulder, and a team pulling together to kick *** on sundays and bring the electricity Phin-nation. 09 im expecting for this team to dominate on all sides. To have that amazing year under their belt,id expect them to perform beyond their capabilities to bring that lombardi trophy back to south florida.
whats everyone logistic, and somewhat relelvant input?

Logistic input? Well, for the most part I advise charter jets to move the team. It just makes more sense. Make sure there are snacks....Gotta make sure the buses are on time of course. The equipment needs to be there and ready. Honestly, I think the team managers have the logistics pretty well handled. That wasn't a problem last year, and, I don't foresee it being an issue this year.

As to excitement? Well, it's going to be interesting. I think we're going to see the emergence of our QB of the future next year, and, that's pretty exciting.

Yeah hopefully Henne will get a little bit of PT. I am excited to see what he can do in a real game. I just dont know how he will get PT without Penny getting hurt or us being up by 30 which happens once every 3 seasons in Miami nowadays.

I am expecting the team to be just as successful as last year, and here is why!

I love that the trifecta have the team they want to create clearly defined, and that each and every move is designed to bring the imagined team into existence. They continued to morph the defense into a tough hitting 3-4 defense. The safeties required for a dominating, run stopping defense are set (not last year). Wake and Crowder show continued investment in the defensive front seven. All of these moves are toward the vision.

The offensive vision is a balanced team that can run the ball down anyone's throat. Grove is a tough run oriented center who is best used within a power running game. Signing starter Vernon Carey and adding backup Berger shows the heavy investment in the offensive line required to bring this vision into being.

After the draft, you will see how far the trifecta has taken us toward their vision. You cannot question that they are making moves to bring about their vision. Each player added has a purpose and fills a missing need. As long as you believe in their vision, you should be happy with the off-season. I know that there are many on this board that do not agree with the Parcells vision. Parcell's does not emphasize skill players; he emphasizes the foundation of the team. I expect everyone that loves skill players over function and foundation to be unhappy with this off-season. You should be if that is your belief. I believe that the Parcell's approach gives a chance to repeat as division champions, and I am excited to see if the trifecta does enough to improve the team to accomplish that goal with a tougher schedule.

09 has got to be the year that I am looking forward to the most. 08 was a great season in many many aspects but the next year when you are amid an offseason is always more exciting (except for possibly a superbowl winning season). I check for news several times a day, always looking for that piece of news that will further improve this teams future. I don't have any Lombardi expectations for 09 because we have not made moves that are intended for 09, my only desire is that after all signings and picks we have made strides that will bolster this teams legacy to becoming a seasonal contender for many years to come.

I'm pretty excited for this season. Henne should be in a few games this year, so that should be alot of fun to watch.

Last year was pretty awesome, especially since we came out of nowhere to win the AFCE. This year, I think we can build on that, and for that, I'm excited.

Actually, I'm excited for the season almost every year, with the exception of 2004 and 2007.

oh jeez did I forget to mention the player pampering, thank god for your post or this thread would have been irrelevant. I think Pennington will have 1 or 2 more years to show he can take this team beyond round 1 of the playoffs before henne gets a starting position.
