I was looking at the roster and I notice a very big hole at the NT position. Jason Ferguson is a fine NT but he's 34 y.o. and he's at that point where he can only give you so many snaps. Plus, he's in the last year of his contract. The guys behind him don't have much experience. The Fins would be in a world of hurt if he went down for any amount of time.

I think most of us would agree that the front office is smart if anything at all and they are more than aware of this situation. This makes me think that they've got at least one more move to make before training camp pops up. What do you guys think?

I think Pat White can play nose tackle also. Just another thing he has never done that people can assume he can do.

Not sure who they would trade for. I don't think a big move will be made in regards to the NT position, but it is possible somebody could be added this summer as TC approaches.

Ferguson likely will retire after this season and Soliai is running out of chances, so you are very right in thinking if something happened to Ferguson that we are in trouble. With that said, before a move would be made, I think they will give some of the young guys like Cohen and Ellis a shot. Also, we have to remember that Randy Starks can play NT if called upon. We will probably be able to get through the 2009 season with what we have, but this HAS to be a major focus next year in free agency or the draft.

I think they really like Ferg and they really believe in our conditioning program. NT and ILB will be addressed in the draft next year.

Don't be ridiculous. You know Pat White is too big to play NT..

You have no faith in the trifecta's training program...I'm sure they can get Pat to lose the weight in time for TC...

If all else fails, they could move langford to DT and JT back to DE with Roth and Wake splitting time at the OLB position.

Taylor is useless as a DE in a 3-4. He can only play DE in a 4-3. . 3-4 DE's need to weigh at least 290 pounds as they are multi gap D-lineman and play more inside than 4-3 DE's do.

Taylor is 250 soaking wet, he would get obliterated playing DE in a 3-4. You would have to bring the ambulance onto the field. It would make a lot more sense to play Roth at 3-4 DE as he is 275 and can stop the run, which is the main job of a 3-4 DE. But even Roth is too small and not good enough to ever be a 3-4 DE as his arms are way too short for the position. You need good arm extension there.

roth was 275 last year he has said that hes going to lose weight this year expect roth to be 255, but yes.. taylor wouldnt work there.. he could line up there but he would have to drop into coverage or run to the flats real fast, he wouldnt get a push against 2 lineman
