No disrespect to Zach, but I would prefer to have a very young player ranked #2 in tackles and who still has a ton of upside, rather than an aging player ranked #1 in tackles for whom things can only get worse and is in the twilight of his career.

Total tackles isn't the only measuring stick of a good linebacker. It is nice to see our guy in the lead though.

Vilma is good. The jets fan was just a little premature--mind you they will find some way of trading him if he remains the real deal

I bet you would rather have him now but what about six years ago?

He is better...younger, faster, hits harder...just stating the facts.

Yeah but none of that matters if you are headed in the wrong direction...Zach will beat him down with intelligence and experience any day of the week.

I'm extremely impressed with him so far this year. He works as hard as anybody in the NFL so he deserves to be where he is.

He is not better. Hes younger, faster yes. Hits harder ya probably but not by much. But its Zach instincts that set him apart, hes so much smarter then any LB in the leauge. That guy can read a play before the ball is hiked.

Obviously id rather have Vilma right now, but thats not what this was debating. Its whose better right now, and i say ZT anyday.

Of course I would - six years ago Vilma was in high school. Let me ask you this - how many GAME CHANGING plays has Zach made in his career?

Now compare that to the likes of Ray Lewis. If you even remotely state that 6 years ago you would choose Zach over Ray (character issues aside) then all credibility goes right out the window.

Zach is a very good and consistent LB who is very intelligent and has a high speed motor. However, most of his tackles have come 4 yards down field.

You need a different measuring stick than total tackles as the Dolphins defense has always been designed to protect him from OLmen while funneling the runner to him. It is natural for him to have high tackle totals.

so are u stating that zack cant hit hard? talk to tom brady about that one
