Said ........

1. that the Dolphins aren't built to win - not just the team - but from within. (I took that as a shot at Parcells)
2. that the 49'ers never raised their offer to Harbaugh, but that one of the reasons Harbaugh didn't take the job was that "the right guy didn't accompany Ross on the flight out to CA" and other jabs he made make it clear that Ross was insisting on Ireland staying as GM and that Harbaugh didn't know Ireland and wasn't about to work with him.
3. More shots at our "talent" he says he doesn't think the Dolphins have good enough depth and that when a team (such as the Jets) gets 2 scores ahead, they know they have the game won.

I have a lot of trouble with point 2.......If this is truthful (which I have no reason to doubt Lombardi) then it spells eventual trouble. If we lost Harbaugh because Ross insisted on Ireland staying then we are in trouble. The man is just as clueless as some of us think he is. Hopefully he sees the light soon.

Ireland must go. He has the arrogance of Bill Parcels, but has nothing on his resume to warrant it. Not getting Harbaugh this off-season was a huge mistake he is the real deal as a coach. As long as Ireland is in place I think Miami is in trouble. This organization need to start over from the top down and that includes Ross if he doesn't want to put solid football people in charge of football operations.

I really couldn't agree more

Well, you can't get rid of an owner like you can a coach or a GM...we are at the mercy of Stephen Ross.

We could be in for 5 or 6 more years of sucking. I think by then Ross will be tired of the losing and want out.

This is where 100% of Dolphin fan attention should be for the near future: that Ross replaces Jeff Ireland. You guys are totally right. He's a Parcells spin off, wanna be. I think he's laughed at in the football community of guys who know what their doing and a HUGE obstacle to this ever being a better team as long as he has a say

Since 1971

ehhh lombardi was sayin this time last year how much he liked this physical miami dolphins team...

although he may be right about the whole harbaugh debacle...

Correct, they have always been a physical team. You cant even say that this year. Easily the worst squad at this point of the season I have ever seen in Dolphin uniforms

Since 1971

I'm tired of the "Ross is clueless" crap. He's not clueless and he does care about his franchise. Just because you hear crap in the media or on Finheaven doesn't mean anything. I feel that Ross is a smart business owner and will do the right thing. You have to remember that it takes time to make smart decisions and you also have to have the right timing on decisions. You can't make a hire or fire just because Finheaven member 101 said so.....

It has already been reported that Ross will do everything possible to land a "star" head coach. If that means dumping Ireland, that will happen. Ross knows what he is doing.

But what if member has over 3000 posts does it matter then???

Ross wanted Harbaugh, is it any coincedence that he has become a very good pro coach? ( So far)

Fact is Ross walked into this front office, I am not saying he has all the answer but I dont see why everyone is so down on him...

I think his only fault so far was keeping Tony when he should have been fired last year.

And that is the scary thought Mr. Ross should do everything possible to land the "Right" head coach. As per Lombardi i am thoroughly convinced that building and "organization" is the most important thing towards our goal. Heres the point:

If this team cant be competitive it doesn't matter what head coach you have;

Agreed; This off-season will tell us alot about Mr. Ross;

Well said. The "clueless" and "not smart" comments are getting old. Ross hasn't made one major football decision yet as owner and yet some think he doesn't know what he is doing.

I keep hearing the old line "He doesn't care about winning". If that was true he wouldn't have looked at Harbaugh after last season and wouldn't be putting together a plan to land a franchise QB and a "star" head coach. He wants to sell tickets(every owner does), but he knows a good team will do that. People bash him over the Orange carpet and celebrity owners but that is more about the game day experience and is not related to the team itself. Obviously the team is the most important thing, but Ross also wants to make the game day experience as great as possible for YOU the fan. He is continuing to upgrade the stadium and the surrounding area.

Let's let Ross actually make a major football decision before concluding he doesn't know what he is doing. It is like someone saying today that Mitt Romney is a clueless president, yet he hasn't made a presidential decision yet or even been elected. Some of you are jumping the gun on him and really just basing it on the stuff he has done beyond the football team. You don't become the second richest NFL owner if you don't know what you are doing.
