Who are the top offensive linemen in Miami Dolphins history? Here is my list.

1. Dwight Stephenson -- Quickness, explosion and power in a 260 pound frame. In the discussion for best center ever.
2. Larry Little -- Watching him destroy linebackers in the running game was a thing of beauty. Hard to believe he was undrafted.
3. Jim Langer --- Miami had some great centers. Langer is a Hall of Famer.
4. Bob Kuechenberg -- Tough SOB. Played on all five of Miami's super bowl teams and for 14 season. His signature moment was dominating Alan Paige (no tackles) in Super Bowl VIII.
5. Richmond Webb -- Seven pro bowl appearances as Dan Marino's blind side protector. Hall of Fame???
6. Jon Giesler -- Miami's LT for 10 seasons. Steady.
7. Ed Newman -- A four-time pro bowl selection, Newman played in three super bowls for Miami.
8. Keith Sims -- Combined with Richmond Webb to give Miami a great left side. Played 11 seasons.
9. Roy Foster --- Two time pro bowl selection. Finished his career with 49ers -- blocked for Dan Marino, Joe Montana and Steve Young.
10t. Norm Evans -- Played 14 years in the NFL, 10 with Miami. He was picked from the Houston Oilers in the expansion draft.
10t. Vernon Carey -- Carey had a solid eight year career with Miami, playing mostly guard. Carey started one season at LT.

Honorable Mention -- Tim Ruddy, Jake Long, Mike Pouncey.

No mention of (Solomon) Wayne Moore? I would put him ahead Jon Giesler, maybe even Webb. Moore appeared in three super bowls, a pro bowl, 9 years with Miami.

Ed Newman was better than Giesler. Wayne Moore needs to be on the list and call me crazy but I think Jake Long edges out Vernon Carey.

I think you have this reversed. He started mainly at right tackle. He played guard in one season which was his final year.

Are we talking best careers or best player?

I would argue that Jake Long played at a higher level in the 5 years he was here compared to the 8 decent to average years of Carey.

I was looking at this list and we have 4 starters right now that can't sniff this list?
Am I over-evaluating this line?

Maybe a good idea to let these players careers play out...I remember many being down on Carey as a starter.

Carey doesn't belong on the list. We kept waiting for him to take that step into the perennial pro-bowler status and it never came.

Pouncey would be ahead of Carey and I am not a big Pouncey fan to begin with.

Carey and Vince Wilfork were both available to the Dolphins in 2004. Carey's career was pretty much what I would have expected from the 19th overall selection, maybe a little underachieving. Wilfork on the other hand went on to be a game changing force. His only knock out of college was that he was a bit raw. I think Jake Long should be on the list based on his brief period of dominance. Loved Richmond Webb and he saved Marino from an early retirement by keeping Bruce Smith at bay.

I will say this, not to change the subject, but this is the first year in ages that we are looking forward to having this offensive line. I do not think it is a weakness like year in and year out, which ends up holding water.
Albert is fighting for his career, if not here, somewhere else. Tunsil we all know was the best overall player in the draft when Tennessee had the first pick and when healthy, Pouncey and James play well. Someone brought up the 6-1 stat when the Albert, Pouncey and James all start.

It's amazing that Bruce Smith had only 2.5 sacks on Marino from 1985 to 1992 and 9.5 total. I just remember the guy wreaking havoc all the time. He was JJ Watt before JJ Watt.

If of you counted the times when Smith had Marino dead to rights and Marino either completed a pass or threw it away he'd have 59.5 sacks. Marino's release was one of the natural wonders of the world, it truly was. Hasn't ever been one like it before or after.

He only took 270 career sacks or 16 a year and to put that into perspective Tannehill has taken 184 sacks in 4 years or 46 a year lol.

Wow! Just amazing!!

Tim ruddy was solid for years. I'd put him over Carey

I'd put Kevin Donnalley before Vernon Carey. Carey was an underachiever.
Donnalley was a bad man.
