10 Reasons Why the Dolphins actually make sense for 2012's Hard Knocks

Cowherd doesn't know **** about anything. The guy barely follows sports as is and if anything the Fins were his 26th choice so he decided to babble away about it. Screw Colin Cowherd and ESPN Radio.

Yet somehow he has the #1 syndicated sports radio show in the nation.

Imagine that.

Colin Cowherd is the GOAT. Dude is the TRUTH. Never lets emotion get in the way of his opinions and he's damn near dead on the money every time.

notice how nyjunc disappears after people bring up the sun-sentinel article.

Let's bring up this thread after hard knocks when the Dolphins ratings beat the jets, and somehow there will be some excuse for it that spews out of his mouth.

He's just upset that he is going to watch 5 episodes of a class act coach instead of seeing whatever rex ryan is supposed to be.

"We cast a wide net," Ketover said. "We talk to a lot of teams to gauge their interest. Some are very interested. Some are interested with caveats that are not acceptable with us. Others say we'll do it in future years. Others are not interested.

"The fact of the matter is, despite what you read, we did not offer the show to any other team but the Dolphins."

things may have just been a matter of things falling into place sooner than other teams, but here is the quote straight from the horses mouth. Both Tannebaum and Ketover stated there were no offers made to other teams(Jets). It is what it is.

This is nyjunc after seeing your post :

If HBO comes out and says they didn't want the Jets I'll believe, maybe santa Claus can deliver that news on Christmas Eve?

It has been delivered by the Sun-Sentinel. See above.

And Tebow is no longer a story. He's not taboo anymore, and honestly, people are sick of the guy. This isnt ESPN, and I dont think HBO is interested in retelling a story that has been told 1000 times. There are no advertisers on HBO.

Because they did the Jets in 2010? because people are tired of Rex Ryan? There are good stories to cover in Miami? Because for every person that likes Tebow, there are scores that dont? Want me to go on?

And I dont believe everything I read, but I'll take a GM's word when he has no reason to lie over a fan's word on a fanboard.

Miami has no appeal outside of fans of the dolphins, Tim tebow alone would have made the Jets another huge success on the show, you may be tired of rex but the ratings were through the roof last time and would have been again. They would have done anything to get the Jets.

The world is over your beloved Tebow. Even the NYJ fans that I know are sick of the guy. Do you really think people are dying to see a 1 hour episode dedicated to Time Tebow?

HBO didnt do "anything to get the Jets", as stated by your GM and the producer of Hard Knocks. Your beloved Rex Ryan was intriguing in 2010 because he was realtively unknown and had a different coaching style, but its has now become known that he is a fool and talks out of his ass. No story there buddy.

I can't help you if you don't think tebow would bring more eyeballs to TVs than the Dolphins and the Jets as a team wouldn't be a more attractive option. Let's check the ratings and compare to 2010. This is a silly argument based on one comment from our GM who never tells the truth w/ the media.

he talks around everything, he comes from the BP school of not giving out too much info to the media.

do you honestly believe HBO didn't want the Jets? do you honestly believe they'd want Miami over the jets? Seriously?

The funny part is you fully believe HBO would want the Jets b/c of their football operations. I'd imagine most fans who would watch HBO to see them on TV would be fair-weather and would rather watch them for all the wrong reasons (since we live in a reality TV world).

You know, all of what SmoKinfins said:

But if they did the jests again think of the storylines... They could fallow the taco around the NY club scene as he goes trolling for jailbait and obvious trannys. They can shoot a documentary style film session of one of Rex's "home movies". They can take us inside the awards ceremony as Cromartie receives his Father of the Year award as nominated by his 9 kids... 10 kids... 11 kids... 12 kids... Slow down son, I can't keep up! We can watch LT in his Big Brother confessional style candid interviews as he laments on his choice to finish his HOF career in a classless orginization... Also fist pumps.

Why on eart would HBO want Miami over the jets, give me one valid reason?

There isn't one god damn thing Miami has over the Jets that is positive? Not one?

Alot of homerism here. The fact is, Tim Tebow would have been a better story line than anything MIA has to offer this year. The QB competition between Tebow and Sanchita would have been epic to watch. The fact that where ever Tebow goes, controversy follows. The fact that Tebow ALREADY is #2 in jersey's sold this offseason, is another side fact to reinforce the notion that the NYJ would be a better soap opera to watch.

The circus in NYJ land is a ratings boon. And I would venture to say, the MIA hard knocks won't come close to the ratings Rexay and company put up a few years back. Putting to bed all the BS storylines people are pushing here. Mrs. Tannehil being used as a reason, goes to show the lack of football story line involved w/ the Phins.

Also the people using "Taco" to describe Sanchita is border line...racist. And should be treated as such. :ponder:

All of that stuff isn't really football related anyway. If the show wanted to focus on bull**** like Jerry Springer would want to be a part of, by all means let the Jets have it.

do you really think Miami has more interesting storylines to pull in a wider audience? Seriously? Should I lie and say that? We got as much attention in january as the teams that were still fighting for a SB, Rex draws attention. These aren't the Eric Mangini Jets anymore.

Really? It's no coincidence that he's not called "burrito" (I call him Taco because factually he's of Mexican descent which not coincidentally the league and team aggressively promote and because things go into him, so if it makes you feel better, considerr me accordingly although you'd be surprised about some things)

FWIW, a few years ago, I did make the effort to check with a very well respected long-standing FH member here who happens to be Mexican American to determine whether from his perspective, this sig crossed the line; to the contrary, he loved it and assured me that most folks would perceive it in exactly the manner it was intended. But thanks for reminding me it existed, I might just resurrect it as a sig

Heh, Rex may be an immoral, wife-pimping, foot-loving, bi-curious voyeuristic, impulse control-lacking, buffoonish over-rated coach needing charity to claim partial success, but giving credit where due, at least he was savvy enough to discourage Woody from a repeat performance. He's painfully aware of the sensitive, over-hyped, under-delivering joke Sanchez is around the league and among the media talking heads. He realized how amplified Sanchez's pouting and sulking would appear when he performs to most everyone's "expectations" and how the resulting calls for Tebow would ratchet up, with maybe the players taking visible sides. So yes it would have been compelling TV, like stopping to watch a trainwreck, but still it was the right move given their cast of characters.

However, in typical Woody fashion, who's to say that nevertheless, he still didn't go ahead and try, but at that point it was as likely that Hard Knocks, after getting jerked around earlier, decided, just like Peyton Manning did, not to even return Johnson's calls.

And there in lies the rub. You even had to 'check' with one person of mexican american decent to get the ok. Glad that one person was the end all be all.

Would love for you to walk into a mexican bar on a friday nite and call someone 'Taco'.

I will stop now. I see that some terms that are used here are accepted by the mods, while others get pointed for far less. Vaark, the fact you had to qualify your statement goes to show you had some reservations to begin with. That should speak volumes by itself, but because 1 person and the mods accepted it, make it less offensive to some. I have been quiet for sometime about your use of the term, because I don't like getting into these conversations.

I would say more, but its useless. If you don't see the error of the term, than you clueless. But I think you do, hence you having to get the ok from '1 mexican american'.

I read a while back the NYJ really wanted to do it again it but HBO actually declined them. I'm too lazy to dig up a link but its out there.

As I understand it, negotiations with the Jets fell apart when both sides couldn't agree on a "God---- snack and foot fetish hooker" allowance.

Well bro, though I have little use for either liberals and conservatives, no matter however I choose to denigrate Sanchez, the disrespectful disdainful **** you fling about liberals on here makes it it pale by comparison. Especially the gratuitous bull**** you often try to crowbar into the main forum where no one could give a flying **** what you or I think politically. So get a grip before you start pointing butthurt fingers in your own glass house.
