100% behind Moore

You'll get no more arguments from me now that I understand all too well where you're really coming from despite your protestations about giving up on Henne.

Watched Culpepper without Moss before he went down - knew he'd be a fail even before then. Would have preferred Saban sign no one than sign him, didn't want him in the worst way. Despised Lawrence Phillips - thought him wearing aqua orange was a disgrace and travesty. He was a thug and his assault of a woman in Plantation confirmed it and I was happy to see him gone. Same for Cecil Collins. Never wanted Trent Green, he was a stop gap and a concussion waiting to happen. Those are a couple of Fins, at least for awhile that I despised, wanting no part of them. HOWEVER, I actually rooted for them to succeed when playing on my team.

The notion of rooting against a player because you hate him for whatever real reason or emotional investment is frankly quite foreign to me, so I'm curious, how do you reconcile rooting for Moore to fail while still calling yourself a Fins fan?

I don't know if you are or arent trying to be a dick, but I read all your posts like your trying to be a big internet hardcore MMA fighter... I realize you can't read text with emotion, just how it reads to me... hopefully not so, as I am just trying to put out my point of view... I dont hate matt moore... I don't know how many times I have to say that.. I just dont see anything in matt moore that leads me to believe he is any more an answer the quarterback I played highschool football with...

I'll try to clear up my opinion as best I can...

If I miss anything that you think I need clarifying and I will chime back in ..

truth is.. i dont see much difference in henne and moore. I actually see damn near a mirror image of one another..

I'll start with henne.. helluva high school athlete, from a quarterback standpoint, he was thrust into action in relief of an injured quarterback, five games into his freshman season.. had a very solid sophmore year, and by the time his junior year of highschool football was over, he had accumulated something like 40 some scholarship offers from schools around the country, quite a few of which were some really powerhouse football programs. He finished high school as one of the best quarterbacks the state of pennsylvania has ever seen.
started opening day for michigan as a true freshman for the second time in school history. a record tying performance in teh rose bowl and tied a school record for touchdown passes in a season. fell off a bit his sophmore year, put up good numbers his junior year being either a finalist or semifinalist for many post season awards, and sat out a few games with injury his senior year until coming back and finishing solid and capping off the season with a win over the gators and tim tebow who was the reigning heisman winner. finishing his michigan career with school records in touchdowns, completions and yards, with a touchdown total that was 2nd best in big ten history

drafted in the 2nd round by the phins and signed a 4 year contract. saw spot duty behind chad pennington as a rookie. henne won his first start as a rookie against the bills, and showed signs of consistent improvement throughout the season. 2nd and 3rd seasons were nothing much more than abysmal. rumors swirled of changing qbs to orton, and devlin and matt moore were signed and henne ultimately was named the starter for his contract year, and was hurt after 4 games..

matt moore..helluva college football player. didn't even play quarterback til his senior year, was previously a safety. led his team to an undefeated season his senior year. a top 10 rated quarterback by rivals.com coming off his senior season, numberous awards and 4 star ratings flew his way left and right, and in 2002 he began college at UCLA..a lot like henne, moore was pressed into duty as a true freshman for an injured quarterback..(note he didn't have any first team reps....LOL)..played in 6 games as a true freshman, beating stanford in his first start becoming the first UCLA true freshman to win his first start. 2003, he started in 4 of 8 games where he saw action. missed some time with an injury and didnt get a stranglehold back on the starting job. transferred out of UCLA in 2004 and didnt' even play football. 2005 gets the starting gig at oregon state, was well on his way to putting up some good numbers before getting hurt again late in the season. started every game for the beaver his final year there, setting bowl game records and beating USC after starting 2-3, finished winning 8 of 9 games.
dude wasn't even drafted. dallas signs him as a UDFA, plays him in one preseason game, and waives him. carolina claims him, doesnt' see action until game 5 as a third stringer.. had a great december. the following year he again takes a year off, this time to due to injury instead of a college transfer, coming off the injury the following season he was a back to josh mccown for christs sake. than didnt see action until damn near the end of the season when the starter got hurt again, put on an impressive five games as a starter and won the starting gig the following year. was pressured by 2nd round draft pick jimmy clausen and you could see it, he played very poorly, HURT yet again on opening day, and benched the following week for poor play, eventually loses the job to freakin claussen, and gets it back four games later, only to be knocked out for the season a game later. FF to miami, and enter week three after henne gets knocked out, in 6 minutes shy of a full game he throws a pic, no tds, and 167 yards, and goes on to play well against the bills twice and the chiefs throwing for 3 tds in games I belive. he set career highs in passing yards, and touchdowns, and had an alarming 14 fumbles in 13 games played.

so in a nutshell, IMO.. we have two highly decorated highschool quarterbacks, two very fine college quarterbacks that have translated to a big punch in the nuts at the nfl level. henne would show promise for a few games at a time, than have a very mistimed mental lapse and showed no moxy as a comeback quarterback. back and forth between starter and backup, before finally playing out his rookie contract and being signed somewhere else as a free agent,

matt moore has a track record of being fragile that dates clear back to his college days at UCLA.. back and forth between backup and starter for 5 years, alot like henne. and showed signs of promise in both carolina and miami, before either getting hurt or a lot like henne not being able to pull off the come from behind victory that is much needed in todays game. add to that a habint of fumbling the ball, that rivals hennes acute ability to throw an untimely interception and what do we have... two quarterbacks, who were great in high school, and college, that just simply aren't NFL franchise quarterbacks IMO..

sure matt moore had a nice three game stretch that some franchise qb's put up, but those franchise guys do it for a full season, not sporadically throughout the season. chad henne came out of the gates swinging last year, too bad he cant manage to do that on a weekly basis, he'd make one helluva quarterback.

I see these guys as nothing special in the NFL.. for me, five years or four in hennes case, is plenty of time for me to realize if you are going to turn out special or not. I've seen enough of both these guys to realize that it'd be foolish to mortgage the future on either one of them. call me a hater, or a salty fan, whatever you want. mock my intelligence, and ridicule my posts all you want... at the end of the day, I don't root for any miami player to fail... I just dont have much faith in them being successful. neither of these two make me think this team could be playoff bound for a year, let alone, for a sustained period of time. which in my opinion should be the ultimate goal.. sustainability, and consecutive playoff appearances with a chance to actually go to a superbowl, and perhaps one day even win it.

Why does everyone think Garrard's last name is Gerrard lol. Same goes with Reshad Jones...it's always Rashad here. Nazi Grammar Police has arrived :D

Your first sentence is a question and should end with a question mark and not a period. HEHE, just kidding man. I have a buddy here in Korea whose last name is Vinson, I called him Vincent for like 2 months and another one named Schuyler (pronounced Skyler) and I still call him Shuler sometimes. I think it must be a word association thing....hehe

Adding lol to the end makes it a reaction to the question I implied hence the period, :D.

I'm just kidding around but anyways it's of those things that everyone on the site starts seeing and then calls him by that name. If Moore suck one game, by god I know i'll see the hundred of threads to say "Get Gerrard in" lol.
