Dion Sims practicing again today. Jordan Cameron is not.

Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Earl Mitchell said Wednesday he feels close to being able to return from a calf injury and contribute to the defense.

“I feel good,” Mitchell said. “It’s a good opportunity to be back with my teammates. I’ve been rehabbing this entire time. I’m taking this opportunity to get back in football shape.”

Mitchell returned to practice Tuesday for the first time since the first week of the season. Mitchell missed almost all of training camp with the injury and played in the season opener at Seattle but did not finish.

Sims is getting close it sounds like..

Earl Mitchell almost ready... don't even care lol is he taking up a roster spot or not yet?

Wish we would activate Culliver already. Damn.

Sims is still in the concussion protocol though, right? No contact yet?
The "again" makes it sound like you're right, but I'm reading "practicing" as more than "individual work." Need more clarification.

DAVIE — Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey believes his team has found its identity. It is to run the football with Jay Ajayi and the plan shouldn’t change against the stingy New York Jets front on Sunday.

“They play the run really well,” Pouncey said Wednesday. “They put a lot of guys in the box. But we’re not going to shy away from it.”

The Jets are first in the NFL in run defense, allowing only 74 yards per game.

Will get more clarification after practice...I'm sure.

I can care less if Cameron comes back. I like what I seen from Gray & Sims has always been solid....I also like the 3rd string kid he's not too shabby makes some surprising plays.

I really would like Culliver to be made active sometime today or tomorow tho.

I want more from Parker on Sunday!!!!! Let's get it Phin Nation.

Weren't we one of the top teams against the run a few years back because our pass defense was so bad ?

I hope we leave the 11 on the field that were responsible for 400 yards of rushing the last 2 games.

You won't be seeing very much DVP in that case. He essentially lost his spot to Stills in 2 WR sets. That guy needs to be an alpha for us if we're really going to take the next step. So disappointed with him right now.

I know many here hate Mitchell but the depth behind Suh and Phillips is abysmal. No matter how bad we think he is he'll help.

Adam Gase says "coach [Todd] Bowles has always had a very stingy run defense and that hasn't changed."

Adam Gase says there will not be an easy yard vs. Jets.

Hal Habib ‏@gunnerhal 30m30 minutes ago
Gase says Ajayi is "the same guy" since the 200-yard streak began. Still with notepad in meetings, etc.

Adam Gase says Dion Sims is a complete TE and MarQueis Gray has been surprisingly aggressive blocker

During this presser Adam Gase has heaped effusive praise on Todd Bowles, Matt Forte, Jets run D, and Brandon Marshall. #Jetsweek

Gase says Ja'Wuan James has been really good the last two weeks. He's been outstanding.

Hal Habib ‏@gunnerhal 22m22 minutes ago
Gase on James' improvement: Getting those five together helped him. They're playing for each other. He's also adjusting to new techniques.

Hal Habib ‏@gunnerhal 22m22 minutes ago
Gase says James was in building "quite a bit" even when he didn't need to be.

Did see anything else mentioned on Culliver, unless I missed it some place, again Gase has been cautious before he brings back players into the fold...
