HOLLYWOOD, Fla. -- The Miami Dolphins' defense took a big hit in Week 8 when Pro Bowl defensive end Cameron Wake tore his left Achilles tendon and was lost for the season.

Surgery followed and Wake is in a boot for an extended period while he recovers. The Dolphins are 2-3 since Wake was injured. However, he’s staying positive and active through the rehabilitation process.

"Obviously, I can’t work on my leg," Wake said Friday night at the Dolphins' Fifty Seasons Gala. "But if it’s getting under the bench and getting my bench press back, studying extra tape, things that maybe you don’t focus on at this point and time in the season. Usually, I’m focused on the next game. But I get to stand back from the game a little bit and kind of do an assessment, self-scout and work on other things."

Shocker Omar ripping the offense, did he mention anything about his beloved horrible chokejob defense? Did he say to himself, hmmmm if this D makes Fitzpatrick and Tyrod Taylor look like HOFs, i wonder what Eli and OBJ will do to my man crush Brent "Toast" Grimes?

Maybe Brent will actually give some effort and feel like tackling since its a primetime game and Miko wants to get on TV punching a security guard

Who cares if Mitchell ever plays for us again. He is rated as the WORST starting interior d-lineman in the league. He blows!!!

But wait, haven't you heard the coaches continually praise him?! Kind of like Dallas Thomas He's a wash out there. The more Phillips we see the better.

Okay, so correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't there two spots on the roster now with Williams going to IR? Or was it a practice squad spot? Something in the last week or so about how we cut someone or signed a guy and had to wait a week to fill his spot? I'm hazy on the details obviously lol

I hope eventually we bring Cedric Thompson up to the team. Let him get some real time game reps, if he's bad, who cares, Aikens was complete trash. Thomas now is below average at best.

I agree with that on the Giants D... need to establish the run regardless of how bad any team's pass defense is. Hopefully this game looks smoother than the last, especially wearing this throwback jerseys. I hope we put up a fight, but Eli may very well roast us.... I know it's better for us draft wise to lose out, but it's too damn hard for me to root for a loss. 7-9... 8-8... here we come.

All goes back to the questions we keep asking about who is doing the evaluatin on personnel and roster moves....and making final call on things....because so many questions we keep asking.

Jordan Phillips SHOULD be the starter opposite of Suh. He has earned it and with Earl Mitchell being pathetic it's a no brainer.

I always visioned Earl as our 3rd down, pass rushing DT. Phillips should start from here on out regardless and if Earl's not 100 percent just use him on long distances and 3rd downs please.
