Davone Bess should rebound favorably from his least productive NFL season, filling a Wes Welker role as Miami's slot receiver. There's little wasted movement in Bess' routes. He has a way of dropping into open zones, which makes him extremely quarterback-friendly.
"Davone Bess is one of those receivers who will juke you pretty good," linebacker Koa Misi said.
Sean Smith is the only cornerback receiver Chad Johnson hasn't had his way with. Smith has slimmed down, dropping to 218 pounds. He's playing with a bit more physicality than in past years. Smith isn't just entering his fourth season as a starter. He's entering a contract year.
•If David Garrard plays for the Dolphins like he did in his last NFL season as a starter — completing 64.5 percent of his passes for 2,734 yards with 23 touchdowns through the air, 15 interceptions, five rushing touchdowns and a 90.8 overall QB rating — the Dolphins could be in the playoff hunt.

Sean Smith NEEDS to have a big year.

so now sean smiths 218...i doubt he lost 24 lbs if that's the case...we get nothing but bad info from these damn dolphins writers...

The article says, "The true indicator of a good NFL player is one that shines every day, consistently making plays."

I have my doubts on these ratings, because ... I don't think 9 of these 10 can't even get us to .500 this year. (& alot of our true talent not even on the list)

However, I think David Garrard is going to get us past .500 this year ... and with a little luck, Tanne will join in the action later on.

I just don't see Sean Smith making that leap into consistency. But I hope he proves me wrong.

Sean must learn to catch this has been his struggle for the last 3 yeats.

The bolded part is what stuck out to me.

Thank goodness we switched to a 4/3 - this can only help the skill set of our interior Dline -

I actually preferred Garrard's 2007 season to the one they referenced. His 2010 was good but not great.

But here's the thing....this isn't 2007, hell it isn't even 2010.

Garrard is pushing 35 and has begun to have physical problems, he is not 30 or even 32 as he was in those seasons.

I think the best player should play, and if it is close with Tannehill the starter should be the future....not a player of the past that "never" was anything special.

There seems to be a certain Sun Sentinel writer (Omar Kelly), who for whatever reason wants to rush to judgement on Ryan Tannehill and insist that we shouldn't even let camp and the pre-season play itself out, go ahead and doom Tannehill to the bench for 2012.....and proclaim Garrard the man this year.

Can't we just be patient and enjoy the competition and see what unfolds first?

I'm not sure what his thinking is, but in my opinion it is flawed!
