Fully agree with that philosophy. I just think this year the circumstances are different and it would be a wasteI take a QB every year until I get “the guy”. Even then, I always draft one to develop.

Seems like a Chop clone. With Phillips, Chubb and Chop it feels like a luxury pick
he's a one trick pony. can't afford that with the shite Grier has builtA clone? No. A great pass rusher? Yes.
But, to me, if you pass on Pearce Jr for anyone other than Carter, Hunter Jr, or (maybe) Graham, you're skipping tiers - as those are the only true Top 10 players in this class. The only guys who have the combination of skill and talent that should make it easy to see their greatness - and who also play high-value positions.
So, that talk of luxury picks goes out the window.
No doubt. Look at Philadelphia for proof. He's not going to last that long
Trenches are always overlooked. That's why there are so many begging for Warren lol. Taking trench players is like eating your vegetables... nobody really wants to do it but they're super beneficial and later on you'll be happy you did when you're reaping the rewards
Getting a little extra money in free agency helps every team obviously, but that could be big for Miami.A clone? No. A great pass rusher? Yes.

As things stand now, getting at least one starting guard upgrade in free agency is a must. I think the Dolphins also need a corner in free agency. Mid-level types, then bargain hunt for other needs (safety, tight end, linebacker).
The Dolphins secondary has always been a strength under Grier, but it's looking very iffy right now. If they don't get a corner in free agency, you can move that position way up. Not sure there's value at 13, but it's hard to see Bonner, Kohou or Smith starting opposite of Ramsey. An injury to Ramsey would also be hard to overcome. Holland also figures to sign elsewhere, so who are the safeties?
Agree. I hope Miami positions itself to not have to go offensive line early. Depth picks later, sure.Guard, LB, S are the positions I'd target in FA.
Edge, DT, and TE are the positions I'd target in the draft, and there are specific RB's and WR's I'd consider at specific points. There are very specific OL I'd consider at 13 and 48, but in general, I'd pass on this OL class, which is why OG in FA is particularly important.
My 2 cents:Guard, LB, S are the positions I'd target in FA.

Mykel Williams is 20 pounds heavier, same height
Banks, Membou and Booker are all worthy of the 13th pickNo WR after Tet is worthy for 13
No OG or OT is worthy for 13
Warren, Walker, Nolan, Stewart, Grant seem worthy
