Hear me out...let me preface this by saying I pretty much love everything about Tannehill. I love his good guy image, he seems like a great guy that I would let watch my kids, unselfish, etc. But, I can't get past the fact that I don't see that desired "it" factor so necessary in Franchise QBs. Of course, I am talking about that big play when we need it, some special trait that puts us over the top. I'm torn in that aspect and if I see Johnny football come in and look special I may just blow my top. I am 85 to 90 percent sold on him but that other 10 to 15 makes me think he's not special. What do you guys think?

The question I have sent out all year to people doubting RT?

"Who do you replace him with?"

The answer is there is nothing available that better than RT. Is RT good enough to go to Super Bowls or the playoffs? Not sure just yet. He needs to get better. However, there is nothing out there better than what Miami currently has. Moot point.

I said this at the mid-point of the season. I need to see more of Tannehill. He goes on stretches where he is brilliant and other stretches where he is utterly incompetent and stuck in the offensive scheme. He doesn't ad lib for a variety of reasons. I just want to see him go out there (like he has a lot of times this season) and play some ****ing football instead of being all heady. You can just see him lose confidence in that Ravens game. It was disheartening. It's not something you want to see in a QB. I sort of want him to blow up on the sideline after a ****ty drive and get pissed at what's going on around him instead of just imitating Joe's calm demeanor.

Tannehill is what we are going to be stuck with for better or worse next season, so he has to step up big time.

He has yet to be a difference maker. A QB who steps up and excels despite the team struggling. He's very much strapped to the limitations of the offense. He doesn't deviate off track, he goes as the rest of the team goes. It can be a great thing (37-0) or a bad (28-13 at home).

There is no obvious better alternative. But it doesn't mean we can't draft a QB late and start developing. Or bring in a vet to compete. We're closing on year three of #17 and there is still no clear picture of if he's the guy long term. That's not a good situation to be in.

I'm not looking at a name to replace him with, just some thing that says he's got it and we don't need a replacement. If he isn't the one, somewhere down the line we'll have to replace him, that's how the NFL works.

Does anyone think he'll step up and have a big game today win or lose, or will he lay an egg in one of the biggest games of the year. I know he's not luck but he has a crap team but plays lights out regardless, same goes for Rothlisberger, Wilson, etc. Believe me, I'm not comparing, just wanting to see something.

I won't judge him until he has a competent coaching staff backing him. Hasn't had that yet. Philbin is a bottom 5 HC and Lazor calls the game like its a lady's flag football league. He's never had a good HC or OC.

I think the guy is at least as good as Flacco - and he won a superbowl. No reason to think tanny couldn't either

There are still issues here and there, but I like what I see more every game with him.

Right there. Keeps his cool and makes a nice pass to convert a third down.

Some of his passes sail on him. And he still needs to work on the deep pass (although the one to Hartline looked pretty good to me) and he forces a few more than I'd like into the middle of the field in the red zone. But his overall accuracy has gotten so much better and he seems a lot better now at keeping his poise when he is getting hit in the pocket. A lot of QBs never get those things. I really didn't think improving his short-and-medium accuracy to this degree was possible.

There, he's about to get hit. Perfect pass.

The problem isn't Tannehill anybody with a decent set of eyes can see that! Blame coaching on plays called and game preparation! And injuries to O line certainly haven't helped! Only thing is what do you do at this point! Before all the major injuries this team played like it could beat anybody! If we stay where we are and continue to draft and build on what we already have I think we start becoming contenders! I am afraid if we make changes in coaching we may be taking steps backwards! Depending on who you get. Some coaches may make alot of changes while others may embrace what they got!

I agree. Most like Lazor but I think he is terrible. Philly is doing the same thing without him. There goes to show you head coach does matter. Lazor and Philbin should give up. They suck
