Many, MANY of us believe that team was better by leaps and bounds than the 17-0 team of '72. That team had wins over SF (no slouch in those days w/ John Brodie), Dallas, Pittsburgh, Oakland and Minnesota in SBVIII. That was as close to a sweep of the league's marquee teams of that time as it could get.
They beat everyone they played... the loss to the Raiders on the road was avenged in the AFC Championship in resounding fashion, and they treated the late game at Baltimore like a preseason game, resting lots of starters for the playoff after beating the Colts at home 44-0.
