Hey Dol-Fans:
Just wanted to throw this out there. I know we have a lot to address, but I would love to see the draft unfold in this way.....

#1- Amobi Okoye - Louisville (DT)
#2- Ryan Kalil- USC (C)
#3- John Beck - BYU (QB)

Just putting that out there for thought...I would be happy with a start like that!

1. Brady Quinn if available, most likely Levi Brown
2. Aaron Irons or Aaron Rouse
3. Johnnie Lee Higgins or Adam Carriker

I think we should trade 9th pick to Pats for their 2 first rounders.

1a. LT Levi Brown if still there - if not take LB Pat Willis.
1b. LT Arron Sears if no Levi Brown - if we do get Brown then WR Sidney Rice.
2. G Ben Grubbs
3. K Mason Crosby

And i think we need to sign either Clements or Samuel. We can cut Mare and Booker too with these picks.

I like rounds 2 and 3 but Okoye is a little light to play in our scheme.

Pats are too smart to make that trade.

I am not a John Beck fan....BYU throws the ball a lot and runs a throw-first kind of system, similar to Hawaii. Also, the fact that John Beck is going to be 26 when the NFL regular season starts next year, and as a rookie, especially as a first day selection, that is a bit old. When most NFL scouts are looking at a first day pick, they are looking ffor someone who can be the face of a franchise for a very, very long time. Having a 26 year old at QB vs. a 21 or 22 year old there is a tremendous difference in terms of potential.

In comparison, here are a few ages of NFL starters once next season begins...

Eli Manning - 26
Ben Roethlisberger - 25
Philip Rivers - 26
Byron Leftwich - 27
Kyle Boller - 26
Rex Grossman - 27
Chris Simms - 27
J.P. Losman - 26

etc, etc.

it feels like the pats have two first rounders every freaking year.
