I thought the #1 D looked good in the first half i think we are going to have a pretty solid D-line

This whole team lacks depth other than at the RB position. Injuries could feasibly kill us this season. If we stay healthy we'll be competitive.

There is a better energy than last year. Of course if most teams have injuries along the either line they would be decimated.

As long as we kill the Jets in the home opener in 100 degree weather like we did to the broncos a few years ago (at home on opening day when we were 14 pt underdogs) I'll be happy.

D line is deep.
Keep in mid that Holiday and Porter didn't even play last night. Pass rush would have been even better.
TB's O-line is pretty good and our D line controlled them in the 1st 2 drives.

True. I thought the D-line looked tough. I was happy with some of the pass protection from our starting O-line. It wasn't amazing, but it looked improved somewhat. Hopefully they can expand upon that.

Definately we're getting some solid push up front from our defense. The infusion of youth is already starting to pay off, and i'm sure the coaching and conditioning isn't hurting either. Hopefully the OL will keep up, they didn't look great but they didn't look bad in the game either. Few missed assignments but that's to be expected this early.

what I'd like to see is 1 OLB that can rush the passer on a consisten basis...maybe Porter can do it or maybe Anderson,I don't care who...but for a 3-4 to be great we need a great pass rushing OLB.

Ozzy rules!!

That's Porter's specialty. With Ferguson eating up dudes inside he should be clear to return to old form on the outside. The pieces are there on defense...just need to put it all together.

Was it just Me that observed the secondary consistently (soft) 5 yards away from the reciever and and letting them catch everything in sight . Making Mcnown and Sims look like Pro-Bowlers.....Kinda reminds Me of the secondary a few years ago when thet had to switch back from Zone to Man-to Man because Zone wasn't cutting-it ....Could be attributed to Coaching

The ONLY time zone works well is when you have a D-line that can apply good pressure on the QB.. If there is no pressure applied, it's easy for receivers to find soft spots in the zone, and easy for the QB to find them open and get the ball to them......... A zone defense is totally useless, in fact it's counterproductive if you can't get good consistent pressure on the QB.

our defense is like a jigsaw. we have all the pieces we just need to put them together but if we have pieces missing there are holes init.

injury free we will have a strong defense but the lack of depth especially at secondary will destroy us
