1st in Pro Bowl Voting

Patrick Cobbs 4th for AFC Special Teams.....despite how bad our ST coverage has been all year, Cobbs does make his presence felt. I'd love to see him some how get that spot, based off of his unexpected contributions overall and the fire with which he plays.

I hate that they let fans vote but thankfully it's only 1/3 of the vote, the ballot stuffing is ridiculous.

it really is.....but they get what they want, a fan-friendly event with next to no real value.

as I say that though....it's amazing how valuable the label 'Pro Bowler' is when discussing a players legacy, and HOF candidacy...."he was a 5 time Pro Bowler..."

As far as fans being only 1/3 of the vote, from what I've heard, the players aren't much better at filling out their ballot. I've heard former players say that they didn't really give it much thought and would just look at the stats same as a fan or vote for the guys they liked.

The players don't do a great job either b/c it's mostly name recognition but they do a better job than the fans.

why does probowl voting start halfway through the season anyways...

halfway through the season would be an improvement.....I think it starts week 5. all they seem to care about is creating fan interraction.....even if it means that being called a Pro Bowler loses its meaning.

I normally look at stats for players I don't know, and if I can't decide I'll go with a Fin if I think they're deserving (ie I didn't know guards that well so I voted Faneca based on career, Jake Scott based on team success, and Smiley cause he's my boy)

But I know we aren't the reason Carp has more votes in one week than Albert Haynesworth
