Hey guys, I know I am jumping the gun a little on this one, but what date/time would you think the Fins would be slotted in after we win this Sunday? Keep in mind the Orange Bowl game will be played on Thursday, Jan 1st, and the National Championship game will be the following Thursday, the 8th. Do we get the Saturday game, so they have more time to prep for the National Championship game, or is that to soon to repare the field coming off a Thursday night game? The Playoff games on Saturday have a 4:00 & 8:00 start and Sunday is a 1:00 and 4:00 start. If hope we get the Saturday night slot, I am tired of attending Sunday games at 1:00! Here are my predictions.

Sat:

4:00 - Arizona Cardinals host wild card team

8:00 - Miami Dolphins host wild card team

Sun:

1:00 - Minnesota/Chicago host wild card team

4:00 - San Diego/denver host wild card team

If Im not mistaken(and its possible I am on this) CBS would be able to select which game they would like to air on Sunday. Jim Nantz was on the Francessa show last week discussing this and there isnt a doubt that they will take the Colts game vs. the Chargers or Broncos on Sunday.

Looks like if we get in we will play Baltimore on Saturday. We probably wont even get Michaels and Madden doing our game either. They will probably stick us in the earlier of the two Saturday games and give us the broadcast crew that they put together just for that game on NBC while whichever NFC game they get will have Michaels and Madden. If the Cowboys get in you know FOX will put that game on Sunday as well.

I donno though. The Cardinals game might get stuck with the "put together" crew and we get Michaels and Madden and play Saturday night. Cards vs Panthers or Falcons could be the late afternoon game on Saturday and Miami vs. Baltimore at night. Hard to say. But, Im almost certain they will put the Colts on CBS on Sunday.

If the Cowboys make it, you can bet your *** that NBC will select their game as the Saturday 8pm game. They will get the best ratings no matter who they face. Then NBC would chose an AFC game and if we are #3 seed, I think they will choose our game but only if we face the Patriots. If our matchup is against the Ravens then I think NBC will choose the Colts-AFC West game.

I dont believe that NBC gets to choose. I think CBS and FOX get to choose the one game of each of their conferences that they wish to air on Sunday and NBC gets the one from each conference that the other networks do not select. At least thats the way Jim Nantz made it seem when on WFAN last week.

Dolphins vs Patriots would be the sexiest match up of the wild card round, regardless if the Cowboys make it or not...

We all know that game isnt happening though. No way do the Jags beat Baltimore. Its Baltimore at Miami if we win and its Baltimore at NE if we lose because the Pats will destroy Buffalo too.

i can be wrong but i think its a pattern as to wat confrence plays at wat times. like if u look at a trend over the past few years, u can see its been altrenating nfc and afc for the sat nite and for the sunday 1 pm, so if thats true wouldnt it be afc at 4 on sat this year and afc at 1 on sunday, and that would mean since the afc west team would need to play the 4 pm slot since its a west coast game we would get the 1 pm game on sunday. i can be wrong but i think its a pattern.

Interesting. Did you hear the Nantz interview on the Francessa show that Im talking about?

i didnt think this was possible but a MIA, NE win and a BAL los would cause this.. also, if it seems that a BAL loss would result in the winner of the MIA/NYJ game playing the Pats in the wildcard round.. interesting.. Looking at the possible match-ups.. it would be a tough road for the fins if we get in.. BAL and the Pats have each beaten us this year and TEN and PIT are both tough should we advance..

Saturday it is!!! According to this bracket on NFL.com it has both 3 vs. 6 seeds playing on NBC, Saturday. The 4 vs. 5 matchups will play on Sunday on CBS & FOX.

thanks for the source man, but lets think about why they may not be able to do that. this thing shows that the nfc 4-5 matchup is on fox on sunday the same day as the afc game would be on cbs. now that wouldnt be able to work out bc if this is correct then the 4 seed is arizona which is western time zone , and the 4 seed in the afc is either sd or den another west coast team. the time slots r 1 and 4 on sunday, and none of those teams can play at 1 bc that would mean a 10 am start for one of these teams.
