How would you guys feel about the following. This is how i think things will go down. I dont think Saban will want to trade away a draft pick from next year, so i think Saban will get a 1st round pick for Ricky and use our 1st and the 1st we get for ricky and move up to get Jay Cutler. how does that sound?

Too much. If Saban got his hands on two 1st round picks, his mouth would water over the two impact players he could get as opposed to a QB with a lot of question marks.

I don't like it. I'd rather keep Ricky, trade down, acquire another 2nd or 3rd or both, and take a QB later in the draft.

I'm just not sold that Cutler is the second coming of the great QBs.

Additionally, the Superbowl once again proved, good teams often reach the pinnacle of acheivement IN SPITE of quarterback play.

Take a QB in later rounds. Hope for a steal. Gus is serviceable next year.

Its offseason ... let me cook up my crazy ideas

That's not THAT crazy.

Saban to quarterback. Zach to wide receiver. Traylor to running back. Chambers to center.

That's how I'd shake things up if I were coach. The other teams would be soooooo confused. They'd NEVER see it coming. :dolphins:

Cutler could be the next coming of Braylon Edwards. Don't see us doing more than merely stirring up the pot when it comes to trading up.

Cutler isn't THAT impressive, he's the third best QB in the draft. We can use that first to upgrade somewhere else.

If an NFL coach inserted himself at QB...how long would it take the men in white coats to put him in the truck?

I like your style 99. I had him penciled in at LB, but safety makes some sense.

Thankyou lol....What can i say....I can coach. :sidelol:

I'd rather trade up for Huff, who is definitely an immediate impact player, then for a guy who, quite frankly, has been a loser throughout college. I know he has the physical tools, but can we expect a QB from a perennial loser to be our franchise QB? Giving up Ricky for him is completely out of the question.
