After the first day (Friday) some people on here were ready to call the season. We didn't spend 80 mil on a player, we didn't spend one dollar. We didn't sign one player. I think some people would have been happy to just sign one guy, regardless of whom that could have been.

Now after the 2nd day, we got rid of a ton of dead meat and got 2 extra draft picks (pending the outcome of the Welker deal). Cam and Randy today saved the franchise a ton of money and by the why it looks, more cuts/trades are on the way.

Even though we don't have anybody new, I like what is going on.

Cleaning house and saving meal money.

Yes, but will we have enough players to field a team?:goof:

apparently if we lose more than we sign...we can get compensatory picks.

but hear me out...i like having the 9th pick...but that #9 pick equals New Englands #24 and #28 picks...id rather trade our #9 for their 2 first round picks...sure u could say they wouldnt do it cuz they lost a 2nd rounder...but they COULD, to move up and draft a stud at #9. With the #24 and #28 picks...u could easily draft a receiver like Bowe or Meachem, and a TE like greg olsen...that is of course, if we end up trading McMichael. So right there u got urself a starting TE, and a great addition to the WR corps. then with 2 picks in the 2nd round...u get Ryan Khalil to fill Center, Samson Satele to fill LG (move Hadnot to RG and Shelton to LT?) and THEN with 2 picks in the 3rd round...u get Earl Everett to fill OLB, and a CB.

sorry but i REALLY LIKE what we are doing...stockpiling picks...its making me fantasize already!

I'm sorry, but the 24th and 28th picks are not equal to the 9th overall pick. The 28th pick is practically a 2nd rounder.

You can basically throw out JT and Zach ever getting a ring. I mean if we want to save real money we might as well cut/trade them as well. We all know it's really no good just having a lop sided team.
