2 determine who MIA will draft: Lets continue with who SEATTLE will pick at #4

Ok, yall. We have QB Matthew Stafford being gone via being selected #1 overall by DET, LT Eugene Monroe going #2 to STL, and OLB Aaron Curry going #3 to KC.

Now we come to the SEATTLE SEAHAWKS. These guys are actually a lot more along than many of these high pick teams. They have some good players like Walter Jones, Deon Branch, Julius Jones, Marcus Trufant, Matt Hasselbeck, Patrick Kerney, Julian Peterson...etc.

But they did just have their starting SLB Mr. LeRoy Hill arrested on some misdemeanors the other day...not good.

Reports are that they are going to franchise tag the guy, so it could be that they are looking for an eventual replacement. But with the depth at LB in this draft, I'm sure they can get an excellent OLB in the early part of the 2nd round at pick #38. So, I bet they are going to go with Matt Hasselbeck's eventual replacement/competition....Mark Sanchez.

Another way they can go is the RT/LG/LT prospect that is supposed to have the highest "ceiling" in Andre Smith and maybe eventually replace Walter Jones while starting him at RT?

Yeah, I'm stuck between them thinking that Hasselbeck and Frye is a good QB tandem and adding an upgrade to the OL or do they take advantage of their draft spot and go with a future franchise QB in Mark Sanchez? Not to mention Frye is a FA.

Of course, they could look to add another potential superstar like a Michael Crabtree. But I hear they are interested in a veteran WR like a TJ Houshmansada...but I have to put a poll up.

So who will SEA take? Mark Sanchez? Andre Smith? Michael Crabtree?

They wont take Sanchez. They go either O Line or wr. I think they should go oline and then try to grab a wr in FA. They have Seneca Wallace at qb as well, I dont see them taking a guy who started one year 4th overall. I think Crabtree would be sick in the WC offense as well.

Also, for that person who selected Crabtree on the poll and posted no explanation...WR is not a need for SEA. They have Deon Branch, Nate Burleson, and are interested in a "veteran" WR like TJ Housh. They also drafted a few young guys the pass few years.

The main likelihood is that SEA, who is already a potential playoff team should take advantage of their high pick and select a future franchise QB.

My close 2nd would be an OT that can eventually take over for Walter Jones, but Jones is still in his prime. So that can wait. I'm going with Mark Sanchez, even though I voted for Andre Smith by mistake on my own poll. LOL.

Deion Branch hasnt been able to stay healthy since he came to Seattle. Also, Ben Obomanu is coming off a broken collarbone. I would say wr is a huge need.

You are explaining here that you feel they are going OL, so did you vote for Andre Smith?

I voted for Smith, but personally Id take Crabtree. I doubt Seattle goes wr that high, they like to take O Line and DLine early. It will all depend on what they can do in FA. They may go wr in round 2. They could use a safety to upgrade Russell as well.

No Ed, I didnt miss it. There are all kinds of "reports" flying around this time of year. As I said, it will depend on what they accomplish in FA that will determine how they draft. If they strike out on TJ, they may consider Crabtree. Why create a poll, ask people to pick a name, then dog the pick? WR is a huge need for Seattle.

So if people just go and post a vote for Crabtree and make no argument for him....it will not matter if he wins in the "popular" polls. This isn't politics and so forth.

I made my point that I thought Mark Sanchez would be SEA's pick. However, I also stated that Andre Smith makes a lot of sense at OT.

So far the arguments that have been put forth have the thread pointing to SEA picking Andre Smith instead of Sanchez.

No one is making a legit argument for Crabtree, just posting on the polls won't make an argument that "SEA" will select Crabtree.

Ed, thanks for letting me in on that. Just letting you know, why put Crabtree in your "poll" then? I made a case for Crabtree. Ill repeat it. Bobby Engram is 36. Burleson is coming off a torn up knee. Deion Branch came back from one this year, and promptly got hurt again, all hes done since he came to Seattle. Ben Obomanu is coming off a broken collarbone. I dont know, would you say the wr core is a tad iffy?

So since I am trying to make a "wise" guess at who is going to be available and where....I have to take the present reports that SEA is looking for a VETERAN like Houshmansadah. Period.

You can't just look at MIA and say, "Ok. We need a RT because Vernon Carey is a FA, so MIA's #25 pick will be a RT". That's stupid.

Reports are that Vernon Carey is a top of MIA's priority list in re-signing. So that must be taken into consideration when making a mock draft guess at who MIA will take at #25.....as of reports TODAY.

Now, once March comes and goes and say MIA didn't re-sign or franchise Vernon, then you "change" your guess based on "modern" facts.

So it is with this one. Does SEA need a WR. Maybe. But reports, AS OF TODAY, are that SEA does "NOT" want a rookie (they have a bunch of those behind Branch and Burleson, but that they are looking for a VETERAN like TJ.

if they failed to sign TJ....then we "change" our guess.

So, "thats" getting a clue!

Crabtree makes the most sense to me because 1st off you do not allow a freak athlete pass by you. Is he a great need for them ? No but it's not like they line up Boldin and Fitz. 2nd their Oline needs to be fixed in the very near future, so that allows them to draft an Olineman or two later to develope behind W.Jones for a year or two. Wahle needs to be replaced but we're talking a Guard in the 3rd or later probably.
So part of my arguement to take Crabtree is that there is no real great arguement for anyone else to take over him and no negatives in selecting Crabtree.

I too do not want more (another) young WR's in our lineup but there's no way I'd pass up Crabtree because of it.
