The Miami Dolphins have had one of the best, or at least most active, offseasons in the NFL in 2015.
In addition to signing the biggest free agent on the market in defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, the Dolphins managed to trade away big contracts in exchange for cheaper talent, had a very good draft and re-signed two of their core players to multi-year extensions in center Mike Pouncey and, as of Monday, quarterback Ryan Tannehill (per Tom Pelissero of USA Today).
This doesn't mean the Dolphins are done yet, as they still have two players who are in line for a new deal prior to the start of the 2015 season.
These aren't players that the Dolphins have to sign prior to the start of the season, but doing so should save the team money in the future while making a commitment to the team in place today.
Here are the two players, as well as why they're in line for new contracts. (See Link Above)

Vernon yes, Miller no.

Lamar is likely heading into his last season with Miami. Can't see any scenario where he is re-signed unless he gets hurt. If he has another solid year we won't be able to pay him. With Jay Ajayi in the mix it looks like Lamar will finally know what it feels like to call somewhere else home in 2016. I'd love to keep him but I can't see how its possible.

I would extend Miller and OV. IMO, both are going to be better this year, and more costly next year. No excuses needed for Miller but, he had a really good year in spite of the OL and shoulder problems. OV was not as impressive but, with Wake's age along with his talent, have to extend him as well. I would also look to extend Jones.

Hard to believe we are talking about players we drafted, and are worth keeping. :)

Miller will be gone after this season. Can't see us giving him a big contract. He's a RB and unless you are top 5 RB it's hard to sign especially with so much other money being spent on players.

I agree, he filled in admirably last year for Moreno was clearly the better back (until injury of course). I just don't see Lamar Miller as anything special, he's a good but not great back. Good backs can be found all over the place these days. That said, obviously for the right (low) price it could be advantageous to extend him.

Seeing that Miller won't be a top five back I don't see why he would hard to sign. The market for good solid running backs doesn't demand crazy contracts. Somebody is going to sign Miller at a respectable deal, I don't see why Miami couldn't be that team. I like Ajayi, but it feels like people are putting their expectations very high on him and if plays like a typical rookie running back some people are going to be disappointed.

Where do you believe he will be gone to?
Why wouldn't he want to stay with the Dolphins?
Why do you believe some other team will offer him so much more $ than the Dolphins?

I'll need to see more from Vernon. Pass rusher is probably top priority next offseason regardless.

Gotta bring OV back. Love the kid. Hug fan. Miller I would bring back but only at a fair price. Top 15 money, not Top 10.

Only the top Running backs make a lot, they could offer miller a pretty small contract

God that 97 yard run pumps me up. I remember losing my mind when that happened. I would like to see Miller back for a 3-4 year team friendly deal. I think Miller and his agent know the value of a RB in today's NFL and I cannot imagine they will be crazy with the numbers. Couple with that the additions they brought in for Tannehill and Miller must know he is but a replaceable piece of the puzzle. If you were Miller would you want to bounce around a la Reggie Bush for the next 3-5 years or lock something in for a little more job security? If you were Miami wouldnt you want a proven commodity who knows the system and can perform their role well? I think something here could be done.

OV on the other hand I am concerned about. He probably knows he will have a good open market value and might use that. Suh got paid, Pouncey got paid, Tannehill got paid, and he has to think he is next. I'd like to keep him on that DL but unlike a lot of others on here I think he will be the tougher deal to get done.

Because a lot of other teams are going to have much more money to spend than we are.

OV is a keeper. Lamarvelous should be kept as well for a "fair" price. The kid is a good example and local product. He deserves his just reward. Just do it!
