Ok, so I get the Smith reasoning, BUT, with a solid 1-2 punch already and so many holes, why would we blow this pick on a #3 back with so many needs out there. Yes, we could have Ronnie beat up again and Ricky ripped again, but its a risk worth taking when there are solid potential starters at the G, WR, maybe CB and ILB positions.

Oh and I actually really like the Henne pick and love that we've got Jake on his blind side and they have a connection you cant teach coming in as rooks, but wtf was up with that interview?? He looked like he didn't want to be a Dolphin at all?? Heck, i thought Big Ben was emotionless but henne was Big Ben with a lil Sam Perkins in him. Nothing at all until he gave Brohm props... he thought he'd go earlier but whatever... that comment about being excited to play with Jake for a couple of years was just bs and it really pissed me off. I certainly hope he's ready to play b/c as much as i doubt Beck and I embrace the competition after so many years w/o a qb, that interview was very depressing for someone in a spot as a rook drafted late 2nd with a shot to compete for a starting gig.

Look at it this way...He is pissed off...and Parcells is looking over his shoulder. What more could you ask for? Phil Simms?

Agree, and look, i wanted him but i hope he comes in with a chip and not a false sense of entitlement. He has A LOT to prove and saying that he looks forward to playing with our first pick overall with a five year deal already means he was big man on campus and he already has jealousy issues.

Oh and Steve Young's mancrush on protecting phil simms from henne was pretty funny too

For these Statements alone I discredit your entire thread. You sir have no clue what you are talking about. "SOLID" with both coming off injuries Ricky came out last year after how many carries? Ronnie has played how many Pro Bowl Seasons, And oh wait who is that third guy. Solid we are far from. If you draft K. Smith you are getting experience and pure talent ready to start the season if Ronnie is having issues with his knee. Thats why NUMB NUTS!!! Oh and the fact that you like the Henne pick alot proves that you have no clue. Henne can make the throws but a huge part of being a GOOD NFL QB is the ability to IMPROV(look at favre, tarkenton, young, etc). Something Henne has not and will not ever be able to do.

Youre right buddy... and Parcells knows nothing.

We were 0-5 and Ronnie was the best total yards rb in the entire league last year. Do you have any clue what the odds of that are?? And yeah, Ricky had a horrible comeback, but his potential is crazy. When you have a one win season you dont draft for third string players.... esp when there are a half dozen potential starters out there. There's no need to throw anyone else in the mix at the rb position right now and you'll eat your bs tomorrow when we pass on smith. We had one win last year. You've got to fill holes on the field, not holes on the bench dude. Oh, and like any qb

... going into the league, you never know, but Henne definitely has the tools. Will they pan out, maybe?? But if Beck is crap, we're screwed for a while so it was a safe play

At least your admitting your own stupidity(all sarcasm aside), I can safely assume you are close friends with Parcells since he brought Smith in for how many work outs i believe 3. His potential is crazy at 30 something having not played in how many years and is a PR nightmare. Sorry BUDDY but if you think Kevin would be a 3rd stringer you must be high. And I have a pretty good chance that i will be sitting fat and happy tomorrow when the phins draft either smith or sims.

Actually reading your post discredits you as a itelligent human being that can't look at any situation with more than one view.

We have a 1-2 punch and can pick up any RB vet to get us through any prolonged injury time, were not fighting for the superbowl this year by the way.

Saying that any college player doesn't have the ability to improve is the dumbest comment any supposed NFL fan could make. I guess BP and JI have no clue because everyone says Henne was #1 on their QB list. Hopefully you have the ability to improve your posts because so far it looks like you may no have that ability.

I agree that it doesnt make alot of sense to draft a guy out of pure fear that the other 2 guys that are ahead of him on the depth chart might get hurt but I dont really like the Chad Henne pick for alot of the same reasons I dont think we should go RB as well. Why use a pick on a position that we have potential starters for? There are alot of hole in that secondary that a first day pick could have helped solidify.

Have you watched Miami football since Marino retired? We have potential starters every year . . . doesn't mean they are the right guys to start . . . we finally get a front office who really wants to figure out this QB thing . . . gets VALUE for the pick on top of it . . . and people are complaining . . . I don't get it. He passed on Henne once . . . because the value was too much in Merling . . . I even liked the Henne pick . . . and I have firmly said I do NOT want a QB on day 1 . . . I didn't think Henne would fall to 57 either.

I like the fact there will be a QB competition at camp but I think the pick could have better suited us somewhere other then QB. Great value pick for sure and that he was still there at that slot makes it too tempting to pass up i guess. im not saying the pick wasnt a good one i think the team has other needs and qb's in the wing that could still turn out. im not ready to turn my back on beck just yet

Man I know you are a big smith fan based on your ID but come on, no need for the insults and anger directed to another poster because of his opinions...which are what you have also. If healthy, Ronnie and Ricky have the potential to be the best duo in the league. We shall see.
